Rus, if adjusting the vac regulator does nothing to change the down stream vacuum then I would look into a new vacuum regulator (or on rockauto: egr valve) if it still does nothing then it would be most likely the trans failing.
as for the OP, push the vacuum regulator towards the firewall...

Does or did the rock sliders for m1008 and m1009
ETA: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?74875-Diy-rock-sliders
When ihad to replace my lift pump. The nut at the pump rounded off. So I found a fitting for the pump, cut the steel line and rand a few inches of rubber fuel line from the pump to the steel line.
m1009's (blazers) had the D44 front 10 bolt gov bomb rear, 3.08 gearing. m1008's (pickup) had the D60 front and 14 bolt read with detroit locker, 4.56 gear ratio in the axles
Are your gp, s switched to 12v or are they still 24v. If still 24v then it is a sign that you have burnt out gp's. Gp controller cycles to keep the gps from burning out too quickly.
So when putting the seal in do you have to lube its driveshaft(yolk) contacting surface with ATF, or leave it dry as possible? And trick with the speedo cable or does it screw right back on without any problems?
Nice! Congrats! http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?127575-Must-do-mods Go to that thread, answers your thread the best.
doghead relay mod, gp's to 12v, do all fluids and filters are a good start. Cigarette lighter outlet (I put in 4) is a good idea so you can keep electronics charged.
