I have to agree that without a load on those front deuce springs you probably won't notice whether there are shocks on the rear or not. I've been debating putting rear shocks on myself. If I do it it will be in the next week or so and I'll let you know if there's a difference.
I always start at the local iron works. I've built a bunch of bumpers and such for my F350's and always get my steel directly from thier drop piles. I've tried the four in my county and none carry it. The sttel distributor for this area can order 3X3X1/2 but only in the standard 24ft lengths...
What do you think of an M36A2 with a knuckle boom? It would give you the best of both world's plus it would look cool. Nice headache rack on the log truck.
The problem with most standard trailer reciever tubes such as the reese is that they are made of 5/16 square tubing with a 3/8 reinforcement ring. I've combed through all the local iron works drop piles and most of them don't even remember ever ordering any 3X3X1/2. Speedy metal and...
I guess it's such an uncommon size that even the drop scrap piles I usually get my stuff out of at the local places didn't have it. The only place I found it was a 10' drop piece and they had no problem cutting it down and shipping just a foot. When they said it would be $250 plus shipping I...
I was looking at them last night, even kept the webpage up to call them in the a.m. Their website didn't show them having it but I figured I call and see if they some. Thanks.
I'm in the process of buiding a hitch and need a foot or two of some 3X3X1/2 metal tubing for a reciever tube. The only place I've found it had a minimum order of $250 regardless of size . I'm in South Florida but will pay to get it shipped down here from a shop. I'm trying to avoid...
It depends if you want show or go. The 395's are the easieast set up with no mods needed. With the proper wheels you can run 14.00's. 16.00r20's generally take a 4 to 8 inch lift to run correctly. What are you planning to use the bobbed deuce for?
That's what I thought. It was sold for charity if I remember correctly. Now it's being sold at a high end car lot for alot more. I'll add some pictures of the bed later. It's kinda different and not too bad looking, compared to the rest of it.
I was looking for some NDT tires and I saw this "thing" for sale. Not really my style but I thought I'd post the pictures anyway because there was some different stuff on here that someone may like. The guy wants $60,000 for it so I think he'll have it for a while.
I've recieved both good help and smarta$$ comments on here. Unfortunately when dealing with peple you have to take the good with the bad. For the most part I've been fortunate but my advice to you is tell the good ones thanks and the bad one to eat a bag of d!ck$.
"Brakes were working when the truck was taken apart. The brake lines were switched from in front of the back axle to behind the axle. The doodads (yeah, I don't know exactly what they're called) shown in the picture were loosened on both sides and were rotated 180 degrees to faces backwards for...
That's something l'll definately pay attention to. According to my measurements I may have to trim the bottom of the pintle support bracket thereby losing the bottom two bolt holes in order to clear the spring bolts. Once I confirm I'll add some pictures.
