I will say that I did purchase the NOS head from...
Took a pair of heads to a machine shop. One was cracked and the other one needs to be resurfaced according to the machinist. Have ordered a NOS to replace the cracked one and I'm undecided as to replace or have the other one resurfaced.
I would like to know if fellow members have had good luck...
Jumping on to 2insanes thread as I feel I'm in the same boat. If there are signs, what would be your recommended plan of action and how far would you take it?
ie, pressure test, replace head gasket, have heads magnafluxed, have block inspected...?

My 2cents,
1) Yes
2) If it's worth it to you, give it a shot.
3) I've seen up to 1100 f on my EGT, I've read above that any higher than 1200 f and you start melting stuff, YMMV.
4) That's what I used, I suggest you read the instructions there is a recommended heating/cooling curing procedure...

About the electrical schematic, I'm not saying it's right, but I'd put a fuse between to the 24v feed and the relay.
And have you considered a battery isolator to not deplete chassis batts by "house" use and ensure preference when charging? or...
