    Found this

For information as far as engines go, unless there are special block castings for the V-100, all Mopar B series motors, 361,383, and 400 are the same basic configuration. When you get into the 413 and 440 RB series the block deck height is different. They all can be interchanged as far as bell...

    M135 build thread

We have a military 6v-53 off a winch. We have installed larger injectors and ground the valves. It really has "snap" when you hit the throttle. It has a Twin Disc conversion Allison on it that has two reverse speeds but no lock-up convertor. We have considered putting it in a tractor or one of...

900 Series Winch Drive Motor Specifications

I am mounting a hydraulic drive 900 series 20,000 pound winch to my tractor for use in the woods. I would like to know if anyone has information about the maker and model number of the drive motor. I want to know how much hydraulic pressure it is capable of handling. I have the information that...

Air Dryer Fixed!! - Was Stuck on the side of the road!

You might save the expense of a repair kit by removing the valve cover from the bottom of the dryer, pull the poppet out (grab the bolt head with pliers or vise grips and pull down), clean all of it well, grease it well and re-assemble if you do not see any damaged seals. Most of these problems...

    Big Model Ships

I was at a modeler's show in Detroit some years ago where I saw a model WWII German U-boat about 4' long that shot actual working torpedoes (no warhead though!). Wish I had a camera with me.

    M35a2 dump conversion

There were WWII CB dueces with dump cargo beds, They did as was suggested in another post when hauling coral and dirt for runways in the Pacific; put a limiting headboard in the beds about 3' back from the front to prevent too much weight too far forward. I have seen them in period pictures of...

LDT Head Gasket swap. How many shop hours?

We had a multifuel head gasket, not the late type, blow at the back of the block. We found that earlier motors do not have a cooling passage at the back of the block like the the later ones do. The ones without this extra passage, when checked with an IR temperature checker, heat up really fast...

this a 5 ton? (A: M51A2 with LDS multifuel engine)

It has a tank type engine heater and a crew compartment heater; good add-ons to have! You won't find better for the price if everything mechanical is OK.

    M923a2 exhaust manifold bolt question

If you have an arc welder, go to You Tube and enter "How to use arc welder to extract broken bolts, studs, and taps". This will take you to that video and others on the subject. I have Duratrode 20-10 Stud Puller rod, 1/16 and 1/8 inch and find it works great. It has a very high tensile...

    Questions from a deuce newbie

I do not remember what kind of loads you were talked out of pulling. We really like the deuce on the 18 ton Ferree trailer we have. The trailer has air brakes on it which really help stopping. It also has maxi chambers on one axle so if any kind of failure happens with the truck brakes/air...

Dual wheels on front of a deuce

Here in north central Indiana we have clay that is very sticky when wet. We find with our farm tractor, combine, and truck duals that if the spacing between them is not really wide the center will pack full of mud to the point you are then basically trying to get treadless lawn rollers through...

    m62 army video

Thanks for that interesting historic video! Several times they said to lock the brakes, then with the clutch down, shift the transfer to neutral, transmission into appropriate gear, then the operator lets the clutch up. Then they show him engaging the power divider lever. You will not get the...

    Kinda bummed... Sold M932A2

Doggone it, ColdWarrior, you missed out on your airfield! Some years ago GL sold a big wood box with a rolled up canvas (I think that was the material) fake airstrip in it, the centerline and other details painted on it, evidently to fake out the enemy and draw attacks away from the real field...

    51 Reo rear axle problems......any ideas ?

To get an idea of what might be happening, drain the oil in the suspect differential into a pan, looking for large amounts of metal particles in the oil that make it glitter in the sun (a small amount of this can be normal, just indicating oil should be changed) or likely in this case, pieces of...

    M-715 Front Bumper

Personally I do not like flexible steps. I never feel secure and inevitably I hit my shin on the bumper. The closest to a flexible step I like is on some Cat equipment where they use two heavy cables for the down legs. It is stiff enough it does not swing around so much.
