Same cut time as what I have for the two trucks in Alabama.
Let me talk to the wife, if we are leaving Monday then I can haul it to fuzzys. Will be am interesting trip to say the least, triples.
It was the alternator. Batteries were / are good. Voltage readings were while truck was running so expect them not to be 12.6 due to electronics. The troubleshooting chart that C.E. Niehoff provides has you figure out if it's the alternator or regulator without the need for a known good...
Ok guys, went to C.E. Niehoff's website and they have troubleshooting guides for the regulators, Ya!!!
For this regulator / generator combo this is the guide.
Edit: uploaded wrong guide. Corrected for N3030 regulator
Saw one out of alabama. Just hate to order a regulator to find out it was the alternator instead.
If I had a schematic of the regulator I could rule it out ahead of time.
I picked up a M1079 for a member and got it topped off with fluids. I flat towed it to the house, that was an adventure in itself. Last night I was going over it preparing for the road trip to bring it to it's owner in Louisiana and noticed the battery gauge was in the low yellow. Got out the...
When I refer to transfer I am referring to the ability to transfer the power to both the front and rear wheels at.
Right now the current transfer case in the 818 provides all time 6x6 and it's not a 50 50 split either.
Nice trailer, and as stated earlier a state is required, "Mid South (paid for and well kept)" is not a location as we have members from all over in different countries. Location can't be US(A) either. Don't have to put your city if you don't wish, just a state.
If someone can get it to Garrets I can get it to Temple / College Station. My route taking me to Alabama has me going to New Orleans first so that's out of the question of me getting it. Heading back I'll be taking 190 the whole way and need to drop some tires off to Garret anyway.
That's why I'm looking at the 7 speed wtec ii out of the fmtv series, built in transfer.
In a few weeks I'll have in the classifieds a Spicer 5 speed and the sprag transfer.
I don't think your "good" price and my wife's idea of a good price are the same, lol.
I saw a 7 speed that is in the fmtv on eBay for 2k out of az, might be a member on here.
Pretty sure its going to be the 5 speed.
Been looking on flea bay and yeah, that's fun. Transmission doesn't even need to be allision, just automatic, medium to heavy duty with the ability to bolt directly to sae #2 bell housing.
I am going to look at getting an Allison 5 speed or 7 speed to slap behind the NHC 250 then work out the transfer situation. Drive shafts will have to be modified but that's no biggie.
As fuzzy said, I'll have a XM818E1, lol
As someone who has spent months at a time in a 1070, along with a 931 and 1088, and last but not least a pls I so much prefer the 1070.
Just have to find a cat dealer and Allison dealer willing to reprogram the entire drive system to allow for 60-65 mph.
