Thank you.
I had all the tools. I used a pressure washer to wash the truck and degrease it. I then used a wire brush with my angle grinder to remove loose paint and rust. I then treated the rust with rust remover, primed the rusted areas and painted.
I did not keep meticulous receipts, but...
I just spent the last two weekends and about 20 hours and did a pretty decent "depot" paint job. There are minor flaws up close, but I'll work them out over time. I bought one gallon of Rustoleum rusty metal primer and four gallons of Behr 383 carc green but only used 3. I did not touch the...
Great advice. I just had a tote with over 200g of WMO stolen out of the back of my uncovered deuce. You just don't think someone will go through the trouble of stealing a 1700lb tote.
They will.
So, Kyle (blackrock on SS) couldn't get rid of his 11x20 ndt's on CL and I wanted to upgrade the 9x20's on my deuce. It was a perfect match. I went down to Phoenixville, PA and picked up 13 11x20's for a few cases of beer. I must say, Kyle was one **** of a nice guy and his shop was very...
Welcome aboard. Nice deuce. Don't worry, the rants will follow shortly. The first one will be "Please list your city and state as per site rules". Just a heads up...
Looking to see I can get some help from the SS express. I need 11 11x20 NDT's transported from Phoenixville, PA to Lakewood, PA (zip 18439). There is not deadline, but the sooner the better. I'd be happy if I could get them as far as Scranton, PA if possible. If anybody might be taking that...
Question???
When is the last time someone used the paint code for 383 Green found here:
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/73018-1968-jk-m35a2-restoration-project-7.html#post916500
I just went to Home Depot and they told me they changed their tints and if they entered the code it would be...
Definitely get the Frame VIN from the frame of the truck just behind the drivers side front wheel. The data plates are often swapped in these trucks and the GL paperwork, if that's where you got it, is incorrect about 107.6% of the time.

I can personally say I have used the Behr paint on the bed of my deuce with amazing results. It has held up with minor scratches despite carrying everything from junk to tool boxes to a tow bar in the bed of the deuce. I use it over Rustoleum rusty metal primer...
I've searched SS and cannot find the answer. I'm looking for 11x20's for my deuce and I am finding some that say "Pneumatic tire" and others that don't say pneumatic, but that's not to say they are not. Is there a difference? Are my stock 9x20's also pneumatic? I'm looking for the stock NDT...
You are correct! I'm sorry, when I was buying it in 2011 the 32oz was $13.89. I should have looked closer at the size before posting. The 32oz is not currently available.

On a slightly related topic, check out this thread. Get Carnac your FRAME VIN and he can get you the history of your deuce. Cool stuff.
