    I'm a 5 tonner now :)

I should have listened to clinto and wreckerman when I came to SS inquiring about getting a deuce three years ago. I now have three deuces and M108 and a new to me M931A2. http://www.govliquidation.com/auction/view?auctionId=7072603 I'll be spending my time, while awaiting my EUC, pouring...

Pennsylvania Army Bumper Markings? Some Help?

My truck came from the 28th. When I painted it, I recreated the bumper markings EXACTLY as they were on the truck when I received it. I received it directly from GL and it came from Fort Indiantown Gap, PA. Here are my markings exactly as they appeared when I received the truck. The left...

    Wrecker count

I hadn't seen this thread previously. I already added my M108 to the poll. She is in very rough shape, but fully functional. I'll have her restored by the end of the summer.

Fall 2012 Rausch Creek Sign Up Thread

I will not be able to attend. I'm moving out of state on October 3rd. Between moving my home and business, there is too much going on to take the time off. Hope you guys have a wonderful time. I'll definitely see you in the spring! Mikey

I'm selling one deuce and the other does parade duty, so I want to keep the NDT's on the parade deuce. Additionally, I like the fact that the M108 has a much better brake system for a daily driver. Singles aren't the end of the world. Very easy to switch back if I want to go authentic again...

No offense taken! Snow.... I'm moving this fall to NE PA, where my deuces currently reside. This area is in a snow belt and has winters that would make Minnesota proud. Because I get free WMO, the M108 has a reliable brake system and the area is so rural, it'll be my daily driver for...

new deuce owner and leaky brakes

Concerned? Why? It's just a six ton truck with a single circuit brake system which could potentially be failing. You've still got the parking brake. And when that doesn't slow you down, you'll have other motorists to cushion your impact. Stop driving and start reading...

He has another m108 in the yard. I will double check but I'm pretty sure mine has the reinforced frame. I recovered it, snapped a few pictures, did a quick walk around and parked it. I have yet to start going through it or working on it and only get to visit it on weekends. Mikey

    Deuce Rear Lug Stud Question

No, gotta remove the hub. The good news is you can't find a better guide than this for removing your hub and pressing the stud out: Hub Flip

That's exactly how my GF reacted.... I have been following the deuce bed crane thread for a while. I needed something to move around 250G totes of WMO. I've shopped around and looked at the options. Finally I decided that with the M108 I can do that and so much more. I have a project in...

loud grinding type noise when making sharp turns

I have a laundry list of things to solve before I drive the truck again. There are bigger problems than the grinding, but I won't drive it until I fix the grinding. I know I need to replace the boots and I plan on inspecting the hubs when I do so. That being said, I don't want to assume it's...

loud grinding type noise when making sharp turns

I've got the same exact problem on my 57 REO M108. Very loud grinding noise while turning sharp right in slow turns. Some great advice in this thread, which I'll try. That being said, did you ever resolve this OP? Thanks Mikey

Well, almost two years ago I bid on my first deuce and accidentally won two. Now, I accidentally bought an M108 wrecker... I'm NOT addicted, everybody needs a wrecker, right? I wanted to stick to a MF engine and was comfortable with the deuce and half. I didn't want to worry about Class B...

    fixed/M35 stuck on I81 in S PA

If you can't get it patched, definitely call Ken Kublo. His LZ is four hours away, but he buys from Mechanicsburgh all the time, which is very close. He may have his lowboy in that area right now. Mikey

Fall Rausch Creek Rally - Dates?

All the good Halloween parties are going to be the weekend of 10/28. November may be too cold. I'd say mid Oct would be best for me. Mikey

Kublo's Surplus in PA...Looking for feedback.

Call him. He has a warehouse filled with generators, military uniforms and other misc stuff. He's also a great source for tires. He does not have a junkyard to pull from, but he showed me a wall filled with deuce parts including starters, air packs and a tranny or two. When I need a fuel...

    Military Batteries

I checked for 6tl about a year and a half ago and the NAPA guy told me NAPA had none of them east of the Mississippi. I bought a matching set of group 27 850cca from wallyworld. I have another matching set of group 27 675cca in my other deuce. Both are fine, although I haven't used the 675cca...
