Where in VA are you? In most cases if you get the part number from the TM and Google search it, you can find just about anything on these trucks. Also, I have had great luck with getting parts from NAPA for my M-1009.
The search feature on Steel Soldiers may also be of help. It is encouraged...
Oops.....Kinda scary event
While I was under the truck, R&R'd my main drive shaft u-joints. I had been getting some strange noises during acceleration last week. The rear U-joint fell apart as soon as it was off the truck.
Before and after the U-joint change I was getting a strange vibe at...
It's a Gooney Bird for sure.... C-46's are H U G E in comparison. Might be old Army markings. I had seen L-19/O-1's painted up like that. Not sure what era though.... Boy, ain't I a lot of help....:beer:
Just asking....How are VFD's funded? Is it through city/county or state/federal funding?
Would better funding for equipment prevented this?

Removed fuel tank and found the packing under the sending unit lock ring had slid out of it's groove. Installed new packing, applied sealant to re-installed sending unit. What a pain....If anyone else gets a sending unit from LMC, the o-ring needs to be stretched out a little to fit the groove...
