Not sure about the best way, but have you tried two wires hooked to an auxiliary 12v power source? Soldier B helps inform light on/off condition, while soldier A holds the leads.
Although tempting, I would NOT use a truck battery as an alternate source, small 12v battery should be enough.
Greetings folks,
I'd like to add Skunk Works: A Personal Memoir of My Years at Lockheed to the list.
Not my favorite, but a good read indeed. It's just to hard to compete against Yossarian's logic in Catch-22:
"He had decided to live forever or die in the attempt...".
Welcome to the site petekolz, check out the manuals for your truck found here.
In regards to your question, TM9-2320-289-20P or Unit maintenance and depot maintenance parts and special tool lists for CUCV, page 34 Figure 10, shows that the tee should be... capped.
Enjoy your vehicle!
Congrats on the purchase Tim, may this vehicle serve you and family well. Thanks for sharing your ideas and upgrades.
Math, good luck on your Masters degree![thumbzup]

If you still have them, rebuilding them with a kit like this one is a better option in my opinion, but your not asking that ;).
Searched for "Alternator CUCV" and found "I'm still confused" and the part number is also in the CUCV wiki.
Again my opinion, find a used or used ones and...
My humble 2cents,
I had to bang a swollen glow plug tip back into the pre combustion chamber (stuck in glow plug entrance) and pull it out through the injector port.
I covered the hole from the P.C. chamber to the cylinder to avoid debris from entering, put a punch on it and banged away. Had to...
Agreed, that was for illustration purposes not a suggestion to buy there, unless you want too... :cookoo:
Funny, the 6 prong spanner socket is part of the loan a tool program over here on the west coast, unlike the 4 prong socket.
Good question, I can offer one theory shared by two different posters on different sites.
"This is the pre-load adjusting collar. The point is to make sure it grips the top ball joint as hard as the bottom ball joint gets gripped." Post #2 here.
"By "Pre-loading" the upper ball-joint...
About the BJ's, you may know this already, but there is another "specialty tool" required for the upper ball stud adjusting sleeve, located in the steering knuckles. In order to remove this sleeve the TM-34 calls for the "Ball stud adjuster sleeve, J-23447" or Ball joint spanner wrench.
Here...
These manuals? Also found elsewhere on the inter web.
Not sure how deep your going, but fellow member top_prop shared this thread on the matter. He follows the procedure outlined in the TM9-2320-289-20 and also provides pictures, thank you top_prop. If you are also going to change u-joint, ball...
TM-20. Section 8.4, Rotor and wheel bearing maintenance, states that there are two different hub nut wrenches required depending on the year of your '09.
1984 Nut wrench J-34616
1985-87 Hub nut wrench, J-6893-D
I have an '86 and had to buy the 4 prong socket, the socket you seem to need is...
