    Swiss Model 1905 Bicycles

About the members of the Swiss Army Bicycle Infantry: "Riders had to be quite fit, as some soldiers were expected to carry up to 70 lbs (31.8 kg) of equipment with only a single gear." If Dan'l Webster could have pedaled like that, not even buckshot could have stopped him! [thumbzup]

    Dexron VI fuel efficiency?

Good question, I'd like to share some of my findings. "For effective lubrication the viscosity must conform to the speed, load and temperature conditions of the lubricated parts." Info. obtained here. "The viscosity will determine how easily the oil is pumped to the working components, how...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Baer, I think the lady in her skivvies is meant to take a pic of your newly acquired and installed 35" tires and then maybe you share the pic? Although that camera doesn't look digital, may have to scan it. I second the motion, pic's are always fun and I'm debating tire size change on my '09...

    Thanks Elvis

Good day, A few days ago, I was frustrated in my back yard trying to separate the steering knuckle from the axle yoke, I gave up and started to consider asking the good folks on SS for some assistance. Keep in mind that the only reason I had gotten that far in the first place was reading TM...

    Have I lost it ?

Humor only. An attempt to answer with a personal opinion, in a humorous fashion, a rhetorical question posted as a thread title. In no way whatsoever directed to the OP or anybody else but myself. Sorry for for the inconvenience and it is a nice truck.

    M1009 No start/crank

Good morning, if I read correctly you measured 25v on your gp relay (top post). I don't think you should have more than 12.X volts there. If I may suggest reading a thread called "muddy resistor bypass" or similar it might offer insight about that in particular. I would link it but I'm not as...

    starting issues

That's a good place to start, then I would check voltage at the batteries as well as having them load tested. If they are good to go, then break out the volt meter, the TM-20 page 2-39 (Troubleshooting "Starting") and previous "no start threads" (here on SS) and go sleuthing. Good luck.

    cucv alternator rebuilding

2deuce, I'm as big a cheapskate as the next guy , but I think the rebuild kit sets you back like 40 bucks shipping included, isn't that worth peace of mind for such a critical component on your vehicle? P.S.Not saying or implying that you are a cheapskate in any way or fashion.
