Had a strange issue with the A2. I was at work loading some stuff in a customers vehicle and as I was walking past the deuce I noticed the brake lights were on. Curious, I got in the cab and pressed the pedal and it was rock hard. Remembering the threads other people posted about that problem I...
I had this problem a bunch. Part of the problem was it was difficult to get the Chinese seals torqued just right since they're slightly different than the American ones. Too tight and the hubs run really hot and too loose and they leak like crazy. I finally got them where I wanted it but I had...
According to Erik's the Newstarr ones are USA made but they have the incorrect springs even though the picture shows the correct one. It's just the plain ended springs vs. the shouldered ones. I guess it's not a big deal because even the military kits used the plain ended springs but they SHOULD...
Looking good! Those were a very big piece of mind when I put them on my 109. I take it up in the Sierra Nevada's for camping and have to drive down that really long grade coming back from the Lake Tahoe area, so I got the best lines I could.
The local NAPAs didn't have the wheel cylinder kits so I ordered them from them on the internet and it took over a month for them to ship them so that didn't look good.
It's an elastic RV roof coating. It seals all the seams and the white reflects the heat. I can put my hand on it in the sun and it's cool to the touch but the paint next to it is blazing hot. It get too hot to touch on the really hot days, but it's still better than the paint.
Nice build! These things take some talent to make into an RV.
I see you used the same insulation as I did. It makes a huge difference! Combined with the snow roof it doesn't feel like an oven anymore.
That brings back memories of a couple summers ago. Ones I'm repressing :) Smart not taking the insulation out of the walls before working in there! What kind of floor are you going with?
Thanks! The extent of my woodworking experience before this was building a clock in high school and cutting the plywood for the sub-floor. First time doing veneer too. Next is the overhead cabinets on the right side. More pics after I get things more completed.
Easiest method is to remove both sides, stick a long pole through and rest against the retainer on the other side and give it a few whacks with the hammer and they pop right now. I tried it with a slide hammer the first time and got nowhere fast.
Took it to the mountains for camping at a lake only to find what little snow remains had been rained on and turned into big sheets of ice. The deuce tried and tried but couldn't get through it on the hills to get me there. Knew another place to camp so I relocated there. Thought I found a...
Due to not being able to find any USA made wheel cylinders, I honed and rebuilt all mine in my A2 and 109. The ones in my 109 had some pitting, but not where the seal rides. Replaced the A2 master cylinder with a 2008 surplus one I found online. Rebuilt the one in the 109 since it was in such...
Does the front axle work when engaged? The military installed the air shift piston backwards on my transfer case so when engaged it would make a grinding noise. There's a type of clutch in the transfer case that looks sort of like really giant castle nuts and they were rubbing together but not...
