I'm usually using my truck about 9 months out of the year; the other 3 months I keep the batteries out of the weather and on a maintainer. I keep them watered, terminals and cables clean and don't have battery problems. Going on 6 years with this set of batteries.
Thanks for your interest Larry. This is the Club's first year of doing this event, so if we behave ourselves they may ask us to come back again next year. The City of Bennett probably has their city celebration every year about this time, I'm not positive though as I don't live in town. In my...
This Saturday, 12 September, at the Bennett Colorado VFW, the MVCC will be displaying some of their member collector vehicles. The Club will provide coffee and donuts, the VFW will provide lunch. Come hang out with us and enjoy the "Bennett Days Parade!" Staging time is 0830 to 0915.
Distance of travel makes a difference on what I carry. A Mechanic's bag of hand tools, geared lug wrench, tow bar, a jug of oil, a jug of coolant, some DOT 5 and tow chains remain on the truck at all times. For anything further than 50-60 miles, I would throw in a complete filter change, gear...
Anytime you run across these types of general use components, look in the Grainger, Fastenal or McMaster-Carr catalogs, you'll find that the prices are much more appealing. For example: Looking for gladhand seals? Fastenal has them.
The Neutral must be bonded to the enclosure, usually this is done with a long green screw through the buss into the enclosure. From the ground buss, connect your ground rod(s), and GND on the genset. I would do this without a break in the wire, feed through your acorn or ground clamp on the rod...
I'm not convinced it's a '71, notice the vehicle data plate is incorrect and the bed has been replaced. I'm not sure if the 4 holes were drilled by the factory for all Deuces, or just the AF units for the warranty plate.
Air Force warranty plate. If you already haven't done so, you may wish to add your truck data to the Late Model USAF Deuce Registry. Is it a dropside? I noticed your vehicle data plate indicates with-out winch. Most likely not the original data plate...
I don't have to drive a ground rod for my genset, I carry 4 wires from the distribution lugs to my main service panel, thereby using the grounding electrode system of my main service. If I were to use the genset as a separately derived system, such as in a remote location, I would have to drive...
No ground loop since there is no grounding wire between the service and the sub. Your genset in your application is a separately derived service, and you need to establish a ground point. You will need to run a grounding wire from the genset to the sub.
Your electrician, albeit has an impressive resume, is incorrect. It has nothing to do with the 3 wires running from your house service panel. It has everything to do with the grounding conductor not being carried out to the barn with the 2 ungrounded conductors (HOTs), and the grounded conductor...
WRONG HOOK-UP! The Neutral (white wire) should be attached to terminal LO! The Ungrounded Conductors (hots) should be attached to L1 and L3! If you do not have a ground at the barn, you need to drive a ground rod and attach to the terminal marked "GND". The interlock you installed is good...
