    "occasional" brush truck. Opinions?

Aside from the fact you'd be placeing you & your truck in a very dangerous sernario. If it broke down out there in the middle of a fire, who would be responsible for getting it out? I'm sure your insurance company would balk at the idea of paying up on a truck you drove into a fire as a...

Engine knocking and oil blowing from turbo

Any chance your J pipe could be full of water and not letting the exhaust out? Secondly, was it knocking or just running rough? When they idle on cooler days they will build up moisture in the exhaust and it'll leak out around the clamps and look oilly as it drips down over the starter...

    Leaking Deuce

Go to any parts store and get 2 or 3 cans of the spray on De-Greaser. Warm the engine up, spray it on, wait 10/15 minutes and hose it off. I prefer the Gunk foaming de-greaser as it doesn't have a strong kerosene odor, but the wife still won't let me do it in the living room... Let...

    Leaking Deuce

Looks like alot of what your seeing can be fixed by taking some time and a few hand tools and start tightening things up. Go over all your hose clamps, all the fuel line fittings, valve cover bolts, intake & exhaust manifold bolts are all things that can and do come loose. If it looks like it...

    Found these in the oilpan

Old School.... Seth....while it may seem like a very old school thing to do, cutting your oil & fuel filters open is like reading a newspaper about what's happeneing in your trucks engine. I've been doing it for 45 years and it's how I know what's going on before it leaves me sit. Let the...

    valve adustment signs and symptoms

The reason for a bit more slober could be due to lower air temps, so I wouldn't worry about that too much. There's plenty of posts on here about doing the adjustment...or simply follow the proceedure in the TM and you'll have it done in no time. I do mine about every two years and there's very...

Why not drive it..:driver:..that's what the tires & motor are for...get AAA plus, then if anything breaks, they come pick ya up with a roll back and haul ya both home. The best way to get to know your truck is to drive it and the more miles you put on it, the more confidence you'll get in it...

What the **** is this ?

The very back has a fold down ramp instead of a swing door...I don't know what they did for work and neither did the folks I asked about it....but I got the impression it may have been like a DJ's kind of rig or perhaps a Band's truck.

What the **** is this ?

I was there this past Tue. myself and was told the guy had it built elsewhere. He uses it for promotional displays for his business, whatever that may be and Dave's men are going to be installing one of their hydraulic power steering units on it. It really is impressive, and I gave it a good...

Help! Bled the air assist slave brake cylinder Instant no brakes

Couple tips.. When you do get your bleeder and get it hooked up, there's some things to remember. You don't need more than 20psi. in the bleeder to do the bleeding properly. Always use a small hose in a clear plastic bottle from the wheel cylinder, to see what and how much air and other...

Help! Bled the air assist slave brake cylinder Instant no brakes

First you need to remember this is a single circuit system. There's no front or back like in a car....it's all one system. So follow the TM...start bleeding at the MC, then air pack, back to right rear, left rear, right front rear, left front rear, right front steering, then end at the left...
