    m813 over the road reliability

rough, loud, bumpy When these trucks traveled a long distance in service, weren't they in groups and had a M1031 contact maintenance support truck and maybe a wrecker with them and other trucks maybe carrying a towbar? I sure wouldn't do what you propose. I make about two 180 to 200 mile round...

Look what I found in my M101.

cool! antenna mount too and I see wooden stakes leaning against the right fender well, used for driving through the hearts of vampires and zombies or maybe just for holding tents in place.

Which Technical Manual for crankcase oil drain?

two drain plugs. I used two 5 gallon buckets at the same time to drain the two oil sumps. Pretty cool that those can fit under there no problem without even jacking up the truck. I did not start my truck for about 5 days before the oil filter change, so that made that part easy. I wanted that...

Largest nut size on a Deuce?

I think you will be surprised to learn that most of your tinkering and maintenance will involve sockets and wrenches that are rather smaller than one would think for this size truck. I get out the half inch drive ratchet to check fluid levels on the axles, etc but many things can be done...

    Convoy lights

I have the amber rotating beacon on a mast on mine, light comes from two 24 volt aircraft landing lights. I was searching on threads on here about convoy lights and price seems to vary for complete kit, from $150 to $250, not really sure what the market price is right now.

My Whoopee Lights and convoy signs

whoopee straps I always have in my daily driver, a 30 ft tow strap, think it handles 18,000 lb load. $25 to $30 at a farm and ranch supply store. I like the way you can 'snatch' the stuck vehicle with those (if you have good strong attachment places). I have pulled full size pickups from...

    I'm just curious...

13,000 lbs of fun I just use mine for parades and displays, but I can enjoy just sitting and looking at it for hours. It is a lot of metal and machinery to take care of for one person. I have had a couple vets, and a kid once, ask me, "Is that real?"

Where do you source your parts?

NAPA filters the NAPA primary fuel filter is 3511 and it comes with the correct gasket. the NAPA secondaries fuel filters are 3512 but you need to also purchase 2 5070 gaskets from them, the ones that come with the 3512 filters do not fit correctly. the NAPA oil filters are 1133.
