If you use a commericial tractor to go get it make sure you use a single axle. The kingpin is too far back and the tractor might hit it during a turn. I'd go to ryder and rent a dolly and tow it behind my M35. If it's at camp boulreguard (i know it's not spelt that way) Be careful making that...
I had sucess with rotating the engine by hand untill that cylinder's intake valve opened. Then i stuffed a rag into that port in the intake manafold. Then used compressed air through the rag to blow it out of the injector hole. I had to plug the glow plug hole to make air only come out of the...
Mine has a sealed battery made by Concorde. Model#RG-15A1. This battery is still avalable. And used in small aircraft. Aircraft parts places can order it for you. The problem is it retails for $285. Ive seen other batteries that aren't sealed, the lead acid type. But i don't have the part...
Any NLGI#2 grease will work just fine. Personally i use Marine grease. To keep water and mud from washing it out. Does it work anybetter? I don't know.
Thanks, Let me know how much. The card he wants is in a blackbox a little smaller than a deck of cards. It is mounted near the fuse block just to the left of the brake pedal.
Niferous, It's good to have a nother SS in houston. Feel free to holler if you need anyhelp. just keep it around 50MPH and you will be fine. I've lost 2 6.2's due to over revving. Keep us informed on getting it home.
In texas you can get a 30day temp tag for $25. All they care about is insurance and you have a good VIN#. It sounds like the state of colorado is the real problem. I'm just amased he pushed a 6.2 with 4.56 gears to 60MPH that far with out it slinging it's self apart!
The mod doghead came up with has worked out well on my 1028. No more problems. as far as the glow plugs go. It should start in round rock without them. Unless it's winter time. The glow plugs are usally reliable. With a good realy and plugs, the card will give you years of good service.
I looked up the guy on ebay and that cooler is a dead on replacement. It has the same part number as the one on my unit. I got some other goodies from him as well. And i got a email from him this morning with the original air filters for this unit. He has plenty of mil parts.
He was very...
I would dissemble, clean, and lube the throttle linkages and gov linkages. Espacillay if they have CARC paint on them. Mine kept slowing down. After a little maintence it holds 60 pretty well.
Thanks, guys. Yea the saturn cable is different. And i'll run through ebay. That's the same problem i'm having. The cooler had rubbed from vibration and a fine mist is blowing through the cooling air. After a dissembly and good pressure washing i found it comming from the back side of the cooler.
I looked and looked for a airfilter for this getset. I finally gave up and decided to modify the filter can. The WIX#546257 is the best fit for the original. I had to remove the outer centering ring in the filter housing to make it work. I also made a centering plug for the cap end of the...
