Wow, Sorry that you didn't get what you ordered - like the drive-thru at McDonalds.
Any idea what you actually have at this point? The Temper Tent is hardly light at 1,300 lbs for one 8'x20' section. Sounds like an interesting system, too bad it isn't tall enough to take off an end and use as a...
Maddawg,
Don't know how much of this you have already, but ... someone has the installation kit on ebay
250122534745
Also, the AN/GRC-160 is vehicular and manpack unit, requires all the portable accessories. If it is just a vehicle install then it is an AN/VRC-64.
I think everyone has...
RE: Re: RE: Subdued color question
TB 746-93-1, October 1964, specifies:
5. Description of Markings.
a. All letters and numerals used in the marking of vehicles and equipment will be of the gothic style illustrated in figure 1. Thickness of the characters (stroke width) will be between 1/6...
dawg:
I am picturing your M725 ambulance - where is the radio set going to be installed? In the cab or in the back? The installation is the same as most of the VRC-12 family. Your radio, amplifier and mount need to be secured someplace out of the way of traffic.
These manuals are available on...
M1008, M1009? Makes a difference depending on the parts. What parts are you looking for? NOS, take off or civilian equivalent? Lots of people and places are parting them out or have NOS parts. Several catalogs of civilian equivalents for the chevy trucks, etc. Ebay, google, look in the...
Rizzo,
The manual: TM 10-5410-284-13&P is available for free at LOGSA. It is a nice clean copy.

AHHH HA!!! Yoiks! EUREKA!!
The answer is: (according to TM 11-7440-293-14) an installation for a "Variable Format Message Entry Device, AN/GSC-21."
It also refers to TACFIRE equipment and some other manuals that I don't have. So the radios were some combination involved in Tactical Fire...
What sort of vehicle is it in? That can be one clue. Also, any data plates of any sort? I don't think it is the VRC-12 family. Could be something older, but need more "clues" to figure it out. Probably a "multi-band" radio (combination of radio sets) system. Here is an example of a similar type...
C'dub:
The .pdf manuals are at the Army LOGSA site. Go to: https://www.logsa.army.mil/etms/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewsearchform&CFID=1399421&CFTOKEN=1fb0e75a5c80a587-A82A4ED0-C372-7D2B-D783268FAF1BDC34
Then enter: 9-2320-272 in the field for Pub Number. That will list all the LO, MWO, TM, TB...
No doubt about it, Brian has some good prices on the manuals that he has. Plus great service!
Another good source with reasonable prices (IMO) is MILMAN at ebay. Check out his store at: stores.ebay.com/Manuals-and-Stuff
As an example, he has SB 11-131 (vehicular radio sets/installation) for the...
Here is a new one - for me anyway.
Yesterday when I parked the truck at home the idiot lights for oil and #1 alternator remained on after I turned off the ignition.
When the vehicle is running everything reads fine.
What happened and where do I start to correct this?
Thanks -
Preston
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: New member & new GL winner today
Congratulations on your "new" truck!
I recommend driving it home with a chase car - after all think of the adventure - the excitement - will it make it all the way home on its own? Naturally perform full PMCS before you start to roll -...
Welcome aboard. As has been noted previously, there are lots of TMs, Los, etc. for the deuce available for download in the reference section. Then there is a great cast of characters online who probably have enough spares stashed here and there to build another truck - and if something has been...
The TM number looks off. The TM 9-2330 "series" is correct for trailers, but the rest looks strange. Where did the TM # come from? Also, did you get the equipment nomenclature off the data plate? Sometimes that works in a search. Or the NSN.
RE: fuel can bracket
Actually the first one is not the one I had in mind, must have hit the wrong selection. Here is the other alternate way of mounting a can holder. I found the reference that I had in mind, just a matter of figuring out how to get a copu up here. It shows the mod and lists...
RE: fuel can bracket
Here are two photos of variants that I've run across. Somewhere I had an illustration of the installation for the holder on the side of the trailer - naturally I can't put my hands on it right at this moment. But I'll browse a bit later and post it if I locate it.
