I can't swear this is what I did because it was quite a while ago, but I think if you remove the boot and push rod from the front it will come out easier. Gives you just the little extra wiggle room you need.

Weatherman,
Check out this section. Just about every possibility has been discussed.
Military Radios and Other Electronics - Steel Soldiers::Military Vehicles Supersite
Also, there is another thread going already. Why don't you follow that one and ask questions instead of starting another VIC1...
Take a look at this thread, post nember 12. See if the internal jumpers are set for non-VIC1/AM1780 use. They need to be set for local, not remote.

May help, may not but good thing to check.

Ahhh mcinfantry. Now there is a name from the old days. A man who had an interesting story to tell.
I wonder how his WC or M37 (can't remember which) is coming along.
Glad to hear he is still in on the loop.

Thanks ke6,
Vehicle is a Deuce. 524 antenna is mounted on the front of the bed on the passenger side so I can lower the dropside without disturbing the antenna. I guess I will put the other antenna on the other side front of the bed and it will be OK.
Thanks again,
BC
Perhaps one of you could answer a question so I don't have to start a new thread.
I acquired an R-442 to link with my RT-524. I have an AB-15/GR with 3 mast sections to use with it. What would be the minimum distance it should be mounted from my other antenna? Or doesn't it make to much...
You people are grossly misreading my post and making a lot of incorrect assumptions from what I said. I never said I didn't like bobbed Deuces, I never said "bobbing is a waste of a truck" and I never said his new truck "is now a pile of junk".
I merely said that his new truck is so far from...
Bigdog123,
I didn't say your new truck doesn't have better driveability, etc. All I said was that you did not make improvements to a Deuce as we all know it. You pretty much made a different truck that does all those things that appeal to you better than a stock unmolested Deuce.
A stock Deuce...
You say your Duce [sic] is better now that it is bobbed. Better than what? Certainly not better than before you bobbed it because it really isn't a Deuce anymore. Not even a fair comparison. Apples to oranges.

toomanytools,
I'm not sure who you are asking the questions but you are correct. Mine is belt drive, 2800 RPM, 7.9 HP Briggs and Stratton engine, 2.5 KW 60 Hz. Leland alternator which through the belt drive spins at 1800 RPM. Actually has a selector fuel valve for off, set tank and remote fuel...
Interesting Mac,
A couple of days ago someone called me that I didn't know and ask me if I wanted a PE-75AF genset. He said if you want it, come get it. Having an affinity for green stuff, went and got it Sunday.
Mine looks just like the one in the picture except no wheels.
No time yet to work...
One possibility?
When the PRC-25 or PRC-77 is installed on the AM-2060 Audio Amplifier/Power Supply which is on the MT-1029 Mount the combination can be connected to the VIC-1 system just like if an RT-524 or RT-246 was on the MT-1029 Mount. The AM-2060 handles the interface to the VIC-1 system...
