Photos? I spaced my poles off of the cab back with two short lengths of Uni-Strut and the correct size strut strap, one just right under the bottom of the cab cover and one towards the bottom of the cab. It's 32* and snowing right now or I'd go out and take a photo or two.
Did you have a Maintainer on your batteries over the Winter? The problem with what you are suggesting is that the batteries won't absorb a charge the same way. I replace the odd one...but that's just me.
If you think replacing the 2 fuel filters on a Deuce is a pain, don't look forward to ever doing any real maintenance, i.e. clutch replacement, brake shoe replacement, etc.
Use some good Sta-Kon butt connectors and a good grade of heat shrink tubing and you'll be good. Be sure and put the heat shrink on the wire first, crimp your connections on, slide the heat shrink over and shrink.
The MVCC is going to support this with a few vehicles. I'd like to see if I can get a few of my re-enactor buddies to show up with a Vietnam Era weapons display. Maybe Henderson can get out of Cheyenne for awhile to have a little fun. (The wind stopped blowing here for now).
I concur with the others, replace the harness. Don't toss the old one, it can be scavenged for repairs, add-ons etc. The Deuce TM has an excellent procedure for removing and replacing that front harness.
