I'm leaving to take my dad a 4+4 airforce truck i got for him just after christmas. If anyone needs anything hauled west let me know. I have a empty bed. It has a military pindle and light plug. So i can move anything M105 and less. I'm flying home so it's a one way trip.
I had the same headlight problem on a 83 chevy pick up. Make sure the ground from the firewall to the engine bell housing is still there and it's clean and tight. That cured my problem. Hope it helps.
Vt yes i'm really enjoying these pics! I take all you have. It looks like alot of fun. If you didn't have to worry about getting shot at. If every body else gets tired of them you could always e-mail them to me. Thanks again!!
FT i would think it wouldn't take long to spray little pieces of head gasket all over the engine compartment At 2800 and 20psi. But it bet it would run 20 sec in the quarter mile doing it.
VTdriver, I haven't decided how it's going to be painted yet. I installed a new cab and engine along with new wiring. I have a M127 to go with it so if you have any pics with a 127 in tow that would be greatly appreaceted! Thanks again!
Once you install the turbo you can increase the fuel rate. And that's where you will see a big increase in power. Ask Sailor2000. his truck is N/A and he's ridden in mine. He can tell you first hand the difference.
I'm in the middle of restoring my M52. Please post as many pics as you can. I'd like to see as many angles as possable so i can put it back the way it's sopposed to be. Thanks!!
no it's not. Although it's really close. You can eather cut the back tab for the bottom bolt off of the alternator or put the bracket in a milling machine and remove some metal from the back side where the bottom bolt comes through. You will also need to reuse the pulley from the leece...
If it's a bad rod bearing you can unbolt it from the crank and change the inserts. If it's a bad main. Remove the cap then stick a nail in the oil lube hole and roate the crank by hand. the nail head will push up aninst the bearing insert and "peel" it out of the block. Install the new insert in...
I have a 82 K20 with the 6.2 and a SM465. They work well together. If your decide to swap you'll need the brake pedal assembly from the doner truck. They are different. It also holds the clutch pedal and linkage. The holes for the clutch rod are alteady marked on the floor pan so drilling them...
Dnails, yes ATF will add some lube to your fuel it will also help clean parts. It has some detergents in it. It will swell seals and help stop leaks also. But i dout one quart per fifty gallons would help in the stop leak dept.
Welcome to the madness! Once you start using it you will wonder how you ever made it through life with out it. And blood hound is right. I made the mistake of parking my M52 next to my M35. Now a have another CUCV in the yard. These things seem to mutliply on thier own.
If he is worried about lube for the IP, then kerosene will make it worse. It has less lubrication quailities than diesel. There are plenty of additives out there for lubing the IP. Motor oil will work. I burn plenty of it. But at $9.00 a gallon it's not very cost effitive. A quart of lucas fuel...
