Go to the autoparts store and get you some insulating exaust wrap. Or header wrap. Insulate where the crossover pipe touches the lower radatior hose. The kit comes with a small heat shield. But trust me it doesen't work very well. I wraped mine and the put the heat shield over that. The hose...
I just got all the hoses and got my powersteering put back to gether on my M52A2. The book calls for OE10 in the system. OE10 isn't easy to come by. Doese anyone think Dextron III tranny fluid would cause any problems?? Thanks,
Keep the pics comming jeff. I've gotten a lot of info while looking at them for my 67 M52 resto. I was mising alot of parts and have been able to see what goes where in some of these pics. Thanks alot! if you have more please post them!!!!
Gas is a emergency fuel only. Something to get you home. It's probally ingiting before the piston clears top dead center. Try not to run it unless there is no choice. And if you do add some motor oil to it to add some lube for the IP. The oil will also help the pre ignition. yes you can run...
Thanks guys. That was it. The fuse cap was laying between the oil filter and the shroud. I got a fuse, put it back on and it charges great. Thanks again!
kerosene is very dry. meaning not much lube in the fuel I would add some lbe to it if i ran alot of it. It's almost the same as #1 diesel. Used up north in the winter. If you have a free or cheep supply run it. There are many opinions on what to use for lube. Everything from 2-stroke oil to...
I just picked up a 10K diesel genset. It runs great but when i disconnect the slave cable it dies. The DC side doesen't charge the batteries. I found a box behind the panel that appears to be a recitifer for the 24v. Where can i find one of these? Could there be another problem? Thanks.
I'm not quite sure i agree with oil companies only making 6 to 8 cents a gallon profit. I worked in a refinery here on the houston ship channel for 7 years. There are a few plants who have wells inside the fence. These wells have been producing for decades. It doesent cost them any more to get...
Try giving it 1/4 throttle while cranking. It it starts quickly. Then increase the fuel rate slightly. You can barly hear the starter on mine even if it's been sitting for weeks.
Try taking a gallon of cool water and pour it on the IP. The water will cool it and run down the back of the engine. If it fires up then the IP will soon throw in the towel.
There are larget compressor wheels from B W but you have to change the charge air housing also. The same result can be had from some machining to the charge air housing and the intake elbow.
I've seen a few 6.2 with the DD inblem on the vavle cover stickers. And all 60 and 40 series DD's are 4 strokes. The only thing in commin the 6.2 had with the 5.7 is the DB-2 injection pump.
Dj, yes i can do the same mods to the "D" also. In stock form a "d" will move more air on the flow bench than a "C" will. I also polish and remove rough edges from the elbow at the intake manafold. The main reason is to remove turbulance. This will help keep the air cooler and let more in.
I can rebuild you one i have here. A new one is avalable but ain't cheep. You can modify a C for more air flow. And it reallt helps the temps. There is a difference in CFM but you will see very little PSI change. You will notice that it will spool up quicker and give you more power at lower...
