I bought my first CUCV from boyce about 14 years ago. I still have it and it still runs. I've bought many parts from them over the years and have been to thier shop a few times. If you want a truck that you won't have titling issues and that you can drive home with out worring then a commerical...
FMJ, Texas will issue you a 30 day temp paper tag for $30. All you need is proof of insurance and the trucks make model year and vin#. I've done that to drive trucks home from auctions.
kyle it's got to be your inspector. The only problem i ever had is they didn't want to pass it because the front parking lights went out when the headlights came on. Most MV's do this. I just added a jumper wire to get them to come on. I do have a hard top also. But haven't heard anything...
I bought one from bret at boyce equipment. For my M52. It was pretty cheep and came with the gasket. I don't rember what i paid but it wasen't that much.
The "D" turbo will move 30CFM more than a "C" model in stock form. That doesen't mean more power though. They both will move more air than the LD can swallow. The "D" turbo was a attempt at stopping hot shut down failures. It has a heat shield between the turbine and the bearing housing...
I sudjested removing the intake tube at the turbo for a quick test drive. So he could see if he had a restriction. I don't think he does. I don't think 1150deg is anything to worry about. 600 deg while crusing is about right. Your highest temps should be at low RPM and alot of throttle. At...
I was looking throug hGL today and found a A3 in GA. A pic of the speedo had a trip meter in it. Anybody ever seen one of these? Anybody know where to get one? The truck is in sale#3147 and it's lot#1056.
1150deg is no where near dangerous. IMHO. If you are worried about air flow to the bigger turbo. Take the intake tube off then test drive again. See how much a difference you have. If there is alot then you might want to put a K@N in the box or put a open aftermarket filter straight on the turbo...
I'm going to run IH 10 to La then up IH5 to patterson ca. I'll be running around stockton, modesto and sac also. If i have time i'll probally go see some frends in San Jose too. I'm leaving the truck and flying home. Where are you located?
I'll be taking my dad a airforce truck the friday after christmas. If anyone along the way between houston and modesto ca would like to get together for coffie or some tire kicking id like to meet up.
With oil up in the manifold it's probally not the turbo. I have a "c" model turbo that i just got off of a bad engine. "window in the block". I'll be overhauling it soon. PM me if you are interested. These turbos are usally pretty tough. And rarely fail. The thing that kills them is shutting the...
Bottleworks, That's the kind of info i was looking for. Thanks, I'll keep using the lucas. Your right 5% insn't much. But i guess it's better than nothing.
I've noticed alot of gas stations here are starting to get the B5 sticker on the diesel pump.
I know bio has more lubercation than the new ULS crap they are selling now days. But, how much more lube could B5 be? I'm guessing they are using it to help reduce emmissions even more. I use lucas...
I get 9:00-20's at gensco tire on OST by SH288 for $49. They have thousands of them and you have to pick through them for the best ones. Some are new others are used. All the tires on my M35 and m105 are from there. When you get ready i'll take you over there and you can look at them. They deal...
