I was assigned to mine at the Fire Dept for a few years. When the FD found out they could get a whole new truck from the GSA cheeper than they could get tires for this one they bought a new truck. They wanted to scrap it. Since they paid $900 for the newer M35 i offered them $900 for mine and...
I swapped a SM465 and NP205 into my first CUCV. You have to change the bracket that holds the brake pedal. The one with the clutch pedal is different. The holes for the clutch rod are already marked into the floor pan. You will need to cut a new hole in the floor pan for the trans ans...
I'd stay way from the used tranny fluid. Too much asbestos from the clutch packs. The IP would probally get pissed. But if it's that bad. It might be the difference between walking and riding. If it were me. I'd bring along a .22 rifle. And shoot the bottum of a eletric transformer. Then place...
I have never missed a election since i turned 18. Even the small local bond stuff nobody seems to care about. I figured i couldn't complain if i didn't vote. But when i comes to voting for the presedent. I don't think we as americans have much say. Doesen't the electorial collage vote for the...
Thanks for the info. I have a LDS in the can with a knocking rod. So i swipe the bell housing off it. I got the idea from a genset that clark truck parts has. But they want too much for it. I can get a gen head here much cheeper and build my own skid. All i need is a gov. I realize that this...
I'm tring to find out what SAE size the bellhousings on the multi's are. I know there is a adaptor plate to drop down to the 3052 tranny. Does anyone know off hand what size the bellhousing is? And what size the adaptor plate is also? I'm looking and using a multi for a genset. Thanks.
PM me before you leave. And i'll give you my info. So if you have trouble along the way mabye i can help. I have alot of spare parts that can get back on the road if you run into problems. And a place to repair it if it's that bad. I'm in houston so if your comming through let me know.
We swaped my 52's cab at the museum in about 4 hours last year. I replaced the wiring harness so i wasen't to worrined about hacking the old one. It's alot easier than it looks. The only slow down is the 40 year old fine threaded rusted bolts. But air tools made short work of that.
Try running some lucas injector cleaner and lube in your fuel . Mabye you have some dirty injector nozzles. Make sure timing is the timing is right. And be sure the air filter is in good shape. 6.2's in stock form are starving for air. You will see a small increase in power when the lucas starts...
I love pics of MV's in the woods! Most pics are of perfect MV's at shows or parades. And there is nothing wrong with that. I do plenty of that myself. But seeing them in the woods doing what they were made for is where it's at!
I've have been tought that the temp that the turbine blades are being subjected to is the consern. If they are too hot they will expand enough to rub the gas inlet casing at the volute. Oil passing through the bearing housing cools the shaft witch cools the turbine. Exaust will loose temp...
Westech, Witch turbo is on the engine your going to install in your truck? does it have the waste gate? I have a "C" that i'd be happy to swap you for it. I have a stock "C" and i have a "C" that i've modified for more air flow. Take your pick. PM me.
I really didn't want to add a heater or another tank. I've ran waste motor oil with diesel for a couple of years. So i know the engine can handle the thicker fuel. I was hoping since this was virgin oil that i wouldn't have any problems with solids forming. It rarely gets cold in Houston. Last...
Does this noise persist when truck is accelerating? Mine makes this noise then coasting or when the drive train doesen't have much load on it. I think it's gear slap in mine. when the grears load and unload. I have used my laser heat gun on it and it never gets above 140 deg. I can hear most...
Went down and filled up wifeys liberty CRD with bio today. While there i was talking with the station owner and he is offering VO for $1.80 a gal. He tells me it's virgin oil and they have filtered it to 1 micron to be safe. It looks good and clear. I'm thinking of running it at about 30% to...
