How did you fab up that battery cable for the disconnect or did you have a parts store do it?

Just a short to ground will cause them to be inop also.

Check for a rub on the harness after the firewall in the engine compartment on the backside of the fender. My rear lights were inop also and that's what I found wrong.

Yeah I knew about the spin on kit, but running low on $ for my M35 at the moment so I just reused the new filter and bought a new can. The spin on kits are in the works starting at the next oil change hopefully.
