Put it on the trailer approximately where you think it should go. Check tongue weight. Move accordingly until you are happy with the tongue weight and fasten her down.

Looks like flipping the lunette would have gotten you a few inches so you never would have been stopped. But, I have to agree with Kenny, a pretty lame traffic stop.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong here please but I believe the manual fuel pump lever must be in a certain position or the pump will not pump. Yes/no?

Item #4---With a fording kit installed, for max fording capability, you need to run a hose from there to your compressor intake so it has a dry supply of air.

My pintle is just a CUCV pintle and backer plate bolted to the front bumper. Mostly for light duty work. Moving trailers, light pulling etc. We had to use 6x6 blocks to slide the trailer on to get enough height so the underside of the bed would clear the trailer fenders.

Used the front pintle hitch on the Deuce today to make loading my old non-dropside bed onto Charles' (bede63) low bed trailer a lot easier. We jacked up the tongue of his trailer and dropped it onto the pintle. Pintle wouldn't close all the way so we chained it down. It's a CUCV pintle hitch...
I'm not exactly sure what size, type etc. the plugs are that you are looking for. I have bought Mil. Spec and size rubber grommets from McMaster-Carr though. I would try there.
