Anybody know of anything published by DOD on this? They had to have testing program? They knew this would be problem if we got into it with the ussr. From what i rember war with them was the #1 worry. Mabye that's why my MV's have more ground straps that it could ever need. They only have a 60...
Somebody correct me if i'm wrong. But i believe the 30 in 3052 is 300 foot pounds of input. I saw one behind a blown 454 chevy in a mini monster truck here in houston. But just like everything else on the truck it's probally way under rated!
If you'll notice the bracket is sitting on top of the frame rail. Just unbolt the bracket and stick it under the top frame rail and put the bolts back in. Instead of the bracket resting on top, it will be held up by the bolts. This drops it down about 1/2 inch. And a wrench then easily fits with...
Just above the starter, there is a relay mounted to the engine block. Get some one to push the button and see if it is clicking. Mine pulled the same stunt. Worked when warm but nothing when cold. But cold here is about 40 deg! Anyway this relay went bad on mine. So give it a look see.
Boyce equipment sells bell housing adaptors to put a duece tranny on chevy v8's. But i think i's stick with the multi. I have a few 6.2's and a 6.5td. The multi is much more relible!!!
Useing a screwdriver to jump the glow plug selinod and counting to 7 would get you around a burt controller. Any other coils might have a problem. Like the fuel shut off in the IP. And the alternators might be upset too.
I believe there was a myth busters show where the set a EMP off near a...
Kenny's right. The pins with the head is the wrong pin. The ones that use a kotter pin on both sides are much stronger! I have broken them too but it takes a much bigger load to break them.
Mine orignally had the stamped steel mounts from the winch to the frame. I broke the pass side one...
Mine has a bracket for the DS-2 chemical decon agent bottle behind the drivers seat. It had a bracket on the tranny hump for the F.E. But it rides in the tool box now.
I run used motor oil at different %'s. The price of diesel is the major factor. when the price goes up so does the amount of oil i use. Never more than 50%. Usally 25 to 30%.
I had problems with the primary fuel filter stopping up. But i bought a centrafuge and started slinging the soot out...
Please let us know what becomes of this. So if this happens to another MV'er we'll have a heads up. If he needs to see the truck, offer to send him pics. This sounds very suspect to me. Why would the gov care about a cargo truck? I could understand if it was a tracked vehicle or a destructive...
If you can get a slide hammer bearing puller you can put the hook/fork in inside and give it a few wacks. They usally pop out pretty easy this way. Some auto parts will lend them to you with a deposit. Otherwise you can pull the other side apart also and use a long 1 inch bar to knock them out...
