Pics? The numbers are for the inner seals that are held in holders inside the axle housing. They are the ones behind the u-joints. After you pull the axleshaft out you will see them. Hope this helps.
FT the inner seal # you need is #450074 This is a national oil seal # (federal mogul). If this # isn't available you can subsutute #'s 480074 or #410074. The difference is the rubber lip design. They are the same size as the original. Housing bore 2.686, seal is 2.690X.500 with a 1.687 dia...
I kept one of the boxes that the shock came in. I'll look for it and get you the #. They were monroe gas charged. And they seem to work well. The studs were the same diameter as the orignal shock. I'll hunt for the # when i get back to houston.
On the OEM kit. You have to cut a hole in the side panel. The blueprint shows you where it goes. You then run the hose from the tube up through the hole and into the small slots in the brackets that hold the snorkle to the exaust. The hose goes all the way up into the mushroom. There is a...
Bjorn's right. Mine came with the same hose as the heater duct for the snorke tube. But much longer. It is the same height as the exaust stack. The crankcase vent is also ran to the mushroon at the top. But the mushroom that comes with the kit is a different size and shape from the orignal. Mine...
Alignment would be pretty tough. The rears float side to side on the leaf spring pads. Toe in as the only thing we can set without some special equipment.
Steve try pulling off a front shock and see if it still has any restance. I swapped to some monroe gas charged shocks and it took alot of...
We tow the half-track at the museum with a 5ton. We tried it with one of the M35's and it worked well, but you couldn't get out of your own way. You can do it. But make sure all of your brakes are in perfect shape. I would be a bit nervous on some of those northern calforina hills. It may be...
I saw one that had a boat winch on it all ready. But i can't rember where. I need one tall enough to lift a 55 gallon drum of used oil into the bed. Would one of these lift that high?
All three filters on your truck serve as water seperators too. They each have a drain. But like DD said pull the fuel from the top. Water will travel to the bottom if left to sit a few days. The dye in the oil will stain the filters and it will take several tanks to remove the dye from the...
I ran mine 2 years with lockout hubs and the front drive shaft in place before i switched to a airshift. But he really needs to remove the front shaft. Tell him i have the linkage parts that came out if mine and he can have them if he wants. I saved them incase somebody needed them. I'll never...
I got tired of those switches failing. So i took a piece of angle iron and clamped it to the brake pedal arm. I drilled a hole in the angle and put a brake switch for a 82 chevy truck in it. Then i wired 2 blade connectors to 2 male pin connectors and plugged them in. The switch is now held...
The worst part of the job was the E-bake cable. I'd drown the adjusting nut in penetrating oil at least a day before i started. But i did it in 4 1/2 hours by myself with a chain fall through the floor. Good luck!
I swapped one last Jan and left the fenders on. I won't do that again. I did one in may and removed the fenders and it went a lot smoother. It was a lot easier to get the rear motor mount bolts to line up and get the shifter under the firewall.
I just swapped my M52's cab and engine on...
