I have a friend that winched the cable into the edge of the drum, it broke several internal parts that he made on his own shop equipment. I am sure there are parts sources, but he insisted on self repair. Could get expensive quickly. I know I am not very good about checking mine, if some kids...

Bet that is rough on bearings and U-joints. That is an enormous jump in gear ratio. I know they used to run 4.10 front and 4.11 rear, but to go to a 4.11 to a 3.08 is huge! I can hear the transfer case crying from here. Bet it was next to impossible to get out of four wheel drive.
I agree with the Cattleman, only I think you would gain a little horizontal stability on duals. I would not trade the driving ease for the added stability unless I really planned to do some serious sidehills. Glen
Under the alternator or generator. Do yourself a favor and unhook the batteries, it is an awkward place to visit and easy to drop a wrench or move a wrench into the wrong spot. You can follow the flex line in front of your IP down and across the lower engine saddle up to the primary filter.

Karl, I thought my sand A2 ran good, that A3 of his just leaps away from me. I had no idea they had that kind of power. I went with good intentions though, if he had a failure, old Sandy was going to tow him home for fuel costs. You cannot beat a back up deal like that... and I brought ten free...
That one was as easy as they come, the masses here are due for a few easy recoveries. You did good my man, that red X on the windshield must mean something to somebody, but I cannot tell it meant a thing as far as your truck's condition. That is a nice rig, once again, it was great meeting you...

I ran into some cool looking low lying fog on the way over. The bouncing of the A2 sure played havoc with my camera's ability to focus!
