What damage can occur if a M936A2 is towed without transfer case in neutral

That's on my list for tomorrow :) Thanks Doghead.

    Mixing batteries? Mil & civi

Got a link to the auction? Sounds like you stole it! An A2 winch truck for $2800 good deal! I've had two buys with the stitching ripped out. The first one I had stitched back up at a boat shop, cost almost as much as a new top. Tops seem to have gone up in price now, so you might look into...

What damage can occur if a M936A2 is towed without transfer case in neutral

Update, because it drives me nuts when people try to help someone and they never let us know whether it's fixed ect.... Looks like a false alarm! I put the transfer case in low accelerated down my driveway, got up to third before I ran out of driveway. It shifts very smooth with the dexron...

Need to license my Deuce in MN. First time owner here. Need Assistance

My Deuce and a half is a Yplate NON COMMERCIAL. It was a nightmare for me, the women at the Princeton MN registrar didn't know their butts from a hole in the ground. They plated it as a One Ton truck first, then I got a letter to return those plates, then St. Paul decided they needed to verify...

What damage can occur if a M936A2 is towed without transfer case in neutral

Agreed. That's why I was only willing to go up to 7k for it as there wasn't even a video showing it running let alone driving. Got it for just over 6k so I shouldn't complain. If I have to I'll either buy another cheap A2 or have the trans from the tractor taken out. Dont think I'll be doing it...

What damage can occur if a M936A2 is towed without transfer case in neutral

It said driven to lot so I assume that didn't mean in 1rst gear only but you never can tell.... I'll investigate a little more this weekend and update. The fluid level is good and its nice clean dexron.

What damage can occur if a M936A2 is towed without transfer case in neutral

My great buy on a wrecker may not be such a great buy, didn't go far since I don't have it registered yet, but doesn't appear to be shifting from 1rst gear with the trans selector in 1-5. Does the speed signal generator/speedo drive have anything to do with the trans shifting? I'm wondering if...

M923A2 Transfer case bearing, help needed

M923A2 Transfer case bearing, help needed

-34P is also available somewhere, do a search for the same numbers as Porky'splace posted with -34P instead of -24P Never mind the -34P is for A1's..... Ever confusing.

    Leaking Wheels with CTIS

Gotta love conflicting TM's....... TM9-2320-272-24-2 Page 18 and 19 of the PDF Wheel and Tire(M939A1/A2) Rotation.... 3. Tighten forty stud nuts (2) 450-500 lb-ft (610-678 N•m) in sequence shown 3. Tighten twenty stud nuts (9) 450-500 lb-ft (610-678 N•m) in sequence shown. Okay guys which...

Quick tips on getting parts for m939s

And what exactly would be "willing to pay for them?" Like the new price of a wrecker, $169,000 vs $6,000 from GL?

    CTIS Zero lights....

Not recommended to unplug or plug in the ECU under power my friend. (I'm guilty myself trying to figure this out, but read not to afterwards). Hopefully I'll get a chance to start substituting parts from my tractor sometime this weekend when the sun does it's job :)

Quick tips on getting parts for m939s

Looks like you'll just have to buy an extra truck for parts Wreckerman! I'm seriously thinking of buying another just for CTIS parts ect.... They're cheap enough.

Think I got mine at harbor freight reasonable.

    CTIS Zero lights....

Same problem here. Only time I get any of the dots to light up is when I hold the button down. I get no cycling whatsoever. Yours cycle at all? I've got a couple other A2's so I might start substituting parts this weekend. Let me know if you figure it out before I do.

    CTIS Zero lights....

Can't find anything about the CTIS no lights in the TM's, but did find this in one of the threads http://dana.com/wps/wcm/connect/25f359804b1f69fba8acfff859534476/DEXT-axts0015-0710_CTIS_TroubleshootingGuide_LR.pdf?MOD=AJPERES&CONVERT_TO=url&CACHEID=25f359804b1f69fba8acfff859534476

    CTIS Zero lights....

Borrowed the PPV from the 923, still nothing. No cycling, no lights. Did find Spicer CTIS troubleshooting PDF in another thread, I'm hoping the speed signal generator missing from this truck will turn out to be the culprit.

Any tips on getting cable to wrap right with a level winder?

The leak isn't that bad, but yeah you can hear a little air leaking. Will check it out this weekend thoroughly during the daytime and post an update. All in all, it's great having a wrecker finally even with all the stuff that needs fixing! Thank you guys.

Any tips on getting cable to wrap right with a level winder?

I can hear air at the back when I flip the switch, but I didn't check visually. Back to the TM's, I don't know what I'm actually looking for. Good call. The little things we just assume. At least some of us do like me.
