Now check and make sure you have a good metal to metal connection between the instrument panel and the dashboard. Clean up the 4 mounting screws and wiggle things around a bit. Wire #27 feeds power to all the gauges, make sure you have a good connection there. I would trace it back to terminal...
Check out my suggestions and tell us what you find Fuzz. If you have a meter, check that #10 wire at the magnetic starter and see if you have 24 volts.
The buzzer is on the same feed as the gauges, I'd be looking for a bad ground between the gauges and the dashboard. Also check connection "A" or wire number 10 on the magnetic starter.
The way I see it, you're going to some labor and expense putting in vacuum controls for your AC, why go cheap now? Do it right, install a converter or equalizer. You can use the 12 VDC for other things down the road.
Am I see a ridgid mounting connection between the stack and the cab tub? If so, wouldn't you want to let the mounts flex a little, to absorb any torque? Just trying to learn, not ruffling any feathers.

Machinist’s Workshop Magazine™ recently published some information on various pene-
trating oils that I found very interesting. Some of you might appreciate this. The magazine re-ports they tested penetrates for break out torque on rusted...
This is what I came up with: 5A 38INF 138AAA on one side of the bumper, and this on the other: HQ 2 or whatever you choose for your vehicle number. 5A is 5th Army, 38INF is 38th Infantry Division, 138AAA is 138th Anti-Aircraft Artillery. I had to Google the 38th to find out what kind of Division...
