You don't have to cut the bracket. Just unbolt it and move the bracket under the frames top rail. Then rebolt it using the same bolt holes. Instead of the bracket resting on top of the frame the bolts will hold it under the lip of the top rail. That way you will have a little more clearence...
Starting it will go much faster if you open the air bleeder at the top of the housing for the second and third fuel filters. Once you get a lift pump running open the valve untill raw fuel comes out. With no bubbles. Then close the valve and start cranking.
We have one in the a 5 TON cargo truck at the meseum. I used it to go to San Antiono to get my M127. I used a M197 dolly converter. It got 7.5 MPG at 62 MPH pulling the M127. Not to bad. It could use more power though. And mabye reprogram the shift points on the tranny.
We've had it for about a year in texas. I haven't had any problems yet. I run it throuh my car, and all my trucks with no signs of fuel leaks.
I would check some of the diesel sites that have some power stroke guru's and see if the lower lube is a problem. I think the PS is now a common rail...
Even the gasser is a pretty stout truck. But at todays prices, feeding it will be high dollar. Is it cheep? The airpack is probally the coulprit on the brake problem. I'd go through the brakes with a fine tooth comb. Can you post some pics?
Hummmmm, It doesen't lok anything like mine. Mine has a bracket that comes off of the bolts that hold the windshield to the cab. And then a bracket that bolts to the exaust tip about 8 inches from the top of the exaust. Each bracket has a large and small radius to hold both the snorkle and the...
The 465's are the neetest thing snice sliced bread IMHO. I only wish they made one that would fit in my pickup truck. Funny thing though. The one i pulled from my M52 with a knocking rod is a white. But it was 4 gallons low on oil when i got it.
Your right, That's the plates i was refering to. I figured you might use them between your 5th wheel and the frame bracket to level the trailor. Do you have a trailor for it?
I use lucas fuel treatment in my regular diesels. I run enough used motor oil in the multifuels to cover any lube problems. Texas has already made the switch to ULSD. You can easily tell. The fuel is yellow instead of green. The ULSD is a good thing for your turbo. It leaves a lot less deposits...
I wouldn't use anything less than 4140. By the way, I have the 1 inch riser blocks from my M52A2 if you want them. I'm pulling them out to level my M127 some what.
Kevin, Sorry i don't have a ladder. But i'm looking for a M128 to go behind my M52A2. Where did you get yours? And what would you think the going rate is? I have a M127, but would like to get the van also. Could you post some pics of the rear door? Thanks.
Does the thermostat not stop the water flow untill the engine warms up? When i first got my truck it wouldn't get above 160 in the 100 deg summer here. I installed a new thermo and it stays at 190 now. Loaded or not. Do some thermos let some water bypass? I used STANT #13938. It said 180 deg on...
It worked. I put a 2 into 1 connector on #21 on the rear taillight. Then one on #491 on the front. And ran a black wire between the two. Now the front parking lights work with the head lights on. After i get it inspected i can put it back with no problems.
