I installed 2 red optima's in mine it 1998. The higher amp ones with the side post close together. They still work great with out any trouble. I got them because they end up under water/ mud alot. I know $250 is a lot for both batteries, but after 8years i figure i got my moneys worth.

I used rubberized undercaoting on the engine side of the firewall and under the cab. Then spray on bed liner inside. It dropped the heat in the cab ALOT!

That sounds like a great idea. What compressor did you use? Can you post pics? Mabye you can wrap the hose with fiberglass insulation. And use wire ties or clamps hold it on.

I too have heard of these switches failing. Has there been any improvements? Or are you running on borrowed time untill they quit?

My centrafuge's top speed is 12,000 RPM's. I usally run it at 10,000Rpm's. It sounds like it's gonna blow at 12K. It takes about 5 min to clean the oil at 10K. How fast does a washer spin? I never thought about it. Mabye i'll put a contact tach on wifey's this weekend.
