Worth it? I think so. I mix used motor oil in mine, it really helps on the fuel costs.
They leak under the base. and the only way to know it's leaking is you'll find diesel in the crankcase. I don't think the leaks are real common. I got mine 9 years ago and it's leak free. None of the ones...
Yep you could trin the others to fit and redrill the holes. I figured if the others where avalible then get them.
Emmando, Do you need the brackets that go to the front of the bed or to the mudflap?
I have a spare set if you need them.
I lot of times they are bypassed when they are overhauled. To prevent them from leaking. It's not a big deal to put it back. Just some hose and a couple of fittings. Cranetruck has posted the pick of how it's plumbed. You'll have to reset the fuel rate when done. But that's easy also. Shouldn't...
You'll need to reuse the metal parts of the mud flaps for the dropside. The holes are in a different place. They sit a little wider. They also have stops on them to keep the sides from touching the tires. So you can drive with the sides down. It's the only way to go. I can go to the lumber yard...
Don't forget to drain the water seperators often. And if the trucks sits for a few days you can pull the drain in the fuel tank untill fresh fuel comes out.
Most probes are good for 2000 deg. If your egt is that hot. Then melting the probe is the least of your worries. Unless there is some cheap chinese probes running around out there.
I just installed a vynl cammo bed cover this morning. The top has some pinholes. And the drivers side front corner has a tear where it attaches to a round black plastic anchor. The tear is about 1/2 inch long.
Has anyone sewed, siliconed, or otherwise repaired small holes/tears in these? what...
The #1 reason for turbos are for fuel economy. Ocording to AlfredBuechi the patent holder. The power increase is a side effect. The more air you shove in there the better milage you'll get. Up to a point.
I've changed mine. I bought a kit from boyce equipment last year. You will have to burnish or hone them to size once you push them in. Saturn has the burnish tool for this. You can use a drill to run it. I did mine in my lathe. They may need grease groves cut in them also.
Changing the inner...
Follow the charge air pipe from the turbo. On the elbow where it turns to go into the intake manafold there is a small 1/8 pipe plug. It's on the top, facing the hood. I can't rember what size allen wrench fits. But anyway take out that plug and put your hose barb there.
The bumper holes are fresh air intake holes for the turbo. A plastic tube goes all the way around to the pass fender and up to the air filter box.
Kenny, go for it! if you don't you'll always wish you did.
Well you could allways pull start it with a pickup truck. Just get it to 10 mph and put it in 2nd gear and dump the clutch. It doesen't need electricity to run. And if the motor is bad you'll find out with out spending any money.
