I see that like my M1009, your odometer has one too many zeros. Should have been a 100,000 instead of a 1,000,000 odometer. Nice looking truck, same tires I have on my M1008. Glen
I carry a 42" long 1" drive breaker bar and a Budd socket. I also carry compressor wrenches and a pork chop. The pork chop is very handy of your rear lug decides to come loose at the nipple instead of the lug nut. Fighting that friction on the wheel with the lug nut until the nipple finally gets...
The difference in fueling rates on the 6.2 engines is tremendous. I have a really nice M1008, but it is a pokey puppy. It never bothered me as I am usually empty or only haul what fits in the bed on recoveries. When my starter bolt broke, my son brought my M1009 over to pull me home. My M1008...
It was an adventure and a really steep learning curve. I would not trade it off though, it was great! Laying in six inches of blowing snow at 6 degrees was not really fun, neither was the diesel shower I took while purging the water out of the fuel lines. That ice covered slab of concrete it was...
I want to stop by sometime, when my differentials are not dragging in the snow and when I can stand to be outside for more than five minutes. It was miserable there in February, but I really enjoyed it. 8) Troy's place is better than Pioneer Village....
These trucks are beaters compared to that 71 of yours! Thanks though, I feel lucky to be able to purchase the two I did. I am sure that tow bar has many adventures ahead of it. At this point though, I do not think it owes me a thing! 8)
There is the Quivera Refuge with a bunch of back roads. Not a lot around there, Pawnee Rock to the west. That area between Coldwater and Medicine Lodge is fantastic country. I really would not matter to me, I just really enjoy the trucks and the country. Come to think of it, there is that St...
Medicine Lodge? I wish I had a rancher friend west of there in the red hills. That is awesome country. I think they extend south into Oklahoma as well. One thing about Dodge City, no shortage of Motels.....
Hey! I am in for the Dodge City thing! That does indeed sound like a lot of fun. We would probably get a lot better turnout though, if we chose a spot closer to OK City. There are a lot of SS members in that area.
Here is the short video on the road, hard to catch a 48 mph truck coming and...
We have picked up two of the M820s, we have three more coming. These two are very rough... very, very rough... a guy would be insane to start a restore on something like these two.
I think I did meet you at a Kansas Krawl once, it has been a few years ago. GL is not nearly as social as it used to be, I think too many items came up missing. I was surprised they let me work unsupervised for a couple of hours. They were certainly busy there today.
You should have come back...
Want to trade injection pumps? I have this new truck that makes good power with little smoke on a D turbo and I would love to have your stinky, smoky old pump in there! Take care of my girl and be sure to let me know when you get tired of her!
I had not seen an intake mushroom like that one...
They must have seriously overloaded that 71 at some point in time, the bridge plate says 94, which is unusual, normally they read 69 like the 68 does. 8)
As you can tell by the photos, we took the M1008 over with a bed load of tools, fluids and four new batteries. A whole box full of stuff and...
