Thanks guys, the 71 has at least been run since overhaul. I did fire it up this afternoon and it sounds great. I burned a little video of it running, I will add t later. I forgot to take carnage photos, but I have not fixed it yet, so the time is not up. I am thankful that they unplugged these...
My EUC cleared this week and today was the only day available due to conflicts at work until the second week in September. I have been needing a deuce since I foolishly sold my old one.
I bought a 68 Kaiser Jeep M35A2 W/W and a 71 General Products Division M35A2 W/W. Either I missed it when I...
I just looked at the map and Durango is way south of where I was thinking. Interstate 70 is way out of your flight path. Be safe, Thought maybe I could buy you lunch or save you a motel bill. Glen
I think that is an incredible story. Those things were in fire stations all across the US, why he brought one home from over seas... Not doubting his word at all! It does appear to be very solid, good tins are hard to find. Glen
Back again... when did they build the curved bottom edge...
Transfer case in neutral, key not on, but unlocked, transmission can be in park, your deuce will barely know it is back there. You will be fine unless there is some loose gravel or sand roads involved. They track just fine on pavement. The wide tires will skate on sand and gravel.
I think the gauges are the same between the deuce and five ton with a different red line sticker location. If you have trouble locating the cable, I have one on an 813 that we are not going to use.
I just pulled one yesterday out of a M820 for one of the M35A2s I have been working on. It was not a bad job, but replacing it in the door with my big hands and forearms was a challenge. Wound up pulling the door glass and using wire to pull it into place.

Last three.... nice job on the wiring harness for the instrument panel. That was supposed to be today's job, but things do not always go as planned. Glen
I am sure my neighbors just love me!
Some more photos from the back yard. I even fired it up for you! Note the new hood that had been pretty well ruined by moving the truck with a fork lift, the chains to the front bumper clevises work great as long as they are pulling the trucks, when they...
That is knocking my socks off nice.... really nice... I am sure any regrets you had with your purchase are fading fast right now. Keep her up and she will make you smile for years to come. Glen
You can hear the difference in the turbo as the pressure builds. I have run it enough to be throwing rods by now. I was pretty nervous though when I pulled the radiator cap and saw some dirty oil drops floating in the nice green coolant. I expected foamy oil. Anyway, it fired right up and...
It had some pretty sorry looking batteries in it.... I wonder if it has been sitting inside someplace as the top still has fold lines in it. The seats have what appear to be brand new covers on them, not all sun bleached out and the material is pliable, not in the hardened crunchy state. It also...
One of our deuces has a 1992 rebuild tag on a 1978 engine block. The truck is a 1970 model. The engine oil look new... clearer than new Rotella. I have driven the truck about five miles. The only logical explanation I can think of is that it never got driven after the overhaul.... Hauled to a...
That will look great sitting at the local restaurant on your way to work, or the grocery store on the way home. 8) Welcome to the green or tan madness. Hlen
rpollitt01 are you following this part? When those little skinny armed guys attack your deuce with a truck stop quality impact wrench, the lugs are about impossible to get off. I use a 42" long 1" drive breaker bar to get them loose, then a half inch drive impact wrench. I swapped a couple of...
