Here's another thought. The operating shaft does not directly move the yoke in the governor assembly. There is a torsion spring (A) that absorb shock loads and transfers the rotational motion of the operating shaft (C) to the yoke through the spring plate (B). If one of the ears on the spring...
Any chance that the spring in the diagram (#23) is broken. It is used to buffer the throttle linkage at the injection pump operating lever. If broken neither the throttle pedal or the throttle cable will work correctly.
In theory water shouldn't enter the bell housing area. The stater, bell housing, inspection plate and SAE adapter ring all have gaskets to prevent water entering.
Just looked at the pics today. Man that is a nice crane. I could really use something like that now. Changed oil in my pickup the other weekend and found 2 piston cooling jets in the oil pan so now I need to pull the engine. A crane like that would perfect.
Good job sir. [thumbzup] One recommendation for safety sake. Please use a support of some type, correct rated jack stand or wood cribbing, to hold the load once you have it lifted. There is always a chance a jack can fail and drop the truck.
I have purchased a couple tarps here to cover the generators and deuce cab. I consider them very good quality and have survived outside 24/7 for over a year now with now signs of any deterioration. 2cents
Sounds like you folks have had a good time again. I'm glad the weather has been nice for this. I've got to see about making it there in the future. It's not like it's a long trip.
The correct way to have stared the cause would be
The victim was driving to a wildland fire on an unpaved road within a national forest and failed to maintain control of the vehicle causing the vehicle to roll down into a canyon.
The real "Multi-fuel" part is the design of the combustion chamber, piston top and injector. The FDC would only very the maximum amount of fuel delivered depending on fuel type to help keep the power output of the engine at the rated spec.
From TM 9-2910-226-34
"The fuel density compensator (when used) is
mounted on the governor housing. The fuel density
compensator automatically varies the quantity of
fuel delivered to the engine so that the maximum
power output of the engine remains constant
regardless of the type of fuel being...
It doesn't clean all that bad and unlike brake kleen, gas and some other cleaners it leaves a oily film so metal like bearings and shafts won't flash rust. Although the price per gallon is getting into the cleaner price range.
I don't see why brake kleen wouldn't work. The only concern I would have is if spraying from the cans might blow any fine metal particles around in the case and find it's way into any bearings. Maybe as a alternative you could wash it out with diesel fuel in a garden sprayer that isn't as...
Has it been the same failure or different in each case ?
Neat project. I will be interested to follow along. I always wanted to have a 5X3 or 5X4 transmission in the deuce but a 10 or 13 would be ok.
