Well I can't seem to find a torque spec for the drain plug in the -20 or -34 TM. I just tightened mine with a regular box end wrench. Mine didn't have the cotter pins installed and still doesn't.
:ditto:
Did mine last summer and didn't have an issue doing it my self. I cleaned the grove on the axle housing, steering knuckle and the edge of the boot with brake kleen and didn't have a problem with the boot coming off while I tightened the clamp.
Sounds like you and batteries do not get along. In the 30+ years I have been working on everything from bobcats to D9's I only have had 2 ~ 3 explode. Scared the heck out of me.
Back in the "good ol days" we use to have a TM section here at SS where you could download manuals and other useful information. JMO, I would say not over $750 for a running unit (both engine and making correct power) with those hours. Problem is at auction there isn't anyway to know...
Thanks for the information Chuck. I never thought about the water bonding to the ethanol and staying that way. I knew that the main ingredient in most gasoline drying additives was alcohol but never gave a thought to using water to get rid of it.
Most likely the only real issue you might run into over time is the ethanol (alcohol) in current gasoline likes to turn non-alcohol rated hoses, seals and some gaskets into a brown slimy goo. The ideal gasoline to use would be 100LL av-gas. It doesn't contain the crap ethanol and still has a...

and download TM 9-2320-361-34. The pump replacement is found in section 5-4. FUEL INJECTION PUMP REPLACEMENT. Page 5-8
My deuce came straight from surplus with a 120# gauge. Cold start it is around 70~75#, as near as you can tell from the markings on the gauge, and after some driving it will drop to 40~45 at idle and back up to 55~60 running down the road. Haven't installed a mechanical gauge to verify. Reading...
I just received the SF97 for a M105 trailer I have had for about 16 months. Thought the paperwork might not go through because it was over 12 months but it did.

Do you still have the strainer in the tank filler hole. I have made a habit of trying to remember to take the filler cap off and just give a quick check for anything that doesn't look quite right. Lower fuel level than expected, spilled fuel around the filler opening that wasn't there before...
