    Engine weight

Good question It also gives "Bare" engine weight of 1326lbs ( ie less engine cooler, generator, injector pump,etc..etc ) but says nothing about Clutch and plate so I'll assume that its not included in 1561lbs spec either

    Old Style Transmission in B1???

I had a newer (NP420) in my 1954 M-37, there really wasn't much difference between the old (NP400) and the newer NP 420 both had syncro'd 3rd & 4th gears with only a slight gear ratio difference between them ( final drive gears were the same 1.1 ) Picture 1 is early M-37 tranny description. Pic...

    Seat recovering Question

On my pass seat bottom I left everything plus added a 2" piece of foam. On the pass seat back I threw out the old matting and used a 3" piece of foam. I cut and trimmed the foam using the wifes electric carving knife, cut through that stuff like it was made for that purpose

    Unwanted Total Blackout

This happens to me when I click on the highbeams, The light switch has a thermal fuse and In my case its a weak thermal fuse that gets overloaded with the extra amps from the high beams, after about 20 seconds the lights come back on for a few minutes then go out again but everything works fine...

    Gillespie paint ratio

The Mil paint sold by AJP & Rapco is Gillespies "11 Series" which is nothing but alkyd enemal, No poly base stock or anything else fancy just plain Alkyd paint ( confirmed by the nice lady at Gillespie ) so you don't need to use anything more then Mineral spirits , Naptha or Xzylene to reduce it...

    Gillespie paint ratio

I've always used hardener with Gillespie As already mentioned it will make the finish glossier, Gillespie recomends "Montana 2000" hardener or a good universal alklyd hardener, I used Valspar "tractor & Implement Hardener ( got it at tractor supply ) on my current deuce and was very happy with...

    Problem with fuel pump

When you rebuild it make sure you have the check valve's seated properly in the recess's, you can use a small socket to fit over the edges of the valve to give it a extra push to make sure its up snug against the gasket ( mine kinda "Clicked" into the recess ). If your old pump uses a roll pin...

    Fender-mounted heater THAT pathetic?

"I definitely feel stupid for assuming those little draincock handles were merely draincocks and not the actual shut-offs they are" well join the club I thought the same thing when I first saw those valves on my deuce

    Fender-mounted heater THAT pathetic?

As already mentioned I also don't think those are drain cocks, they look like the valves that are on my deuce also ( see pic )., make sure they are both open ( one in pic is closed tight) P.S. thanks for the compliments my engine is pretty clean but pic's are deceiving
