I believe #2 is part of the "Sprag" style transfer case reverse / forward shift linkage. In #3 you are missing pretty much everything but #22 in the diagram.

Amen Brother. I can't speak for other states but when it comes to the Peoples Republic of Maryland they raided the transportation trust fund (what a joke) where all the fuel tax was going, to balance the budget in the general fund. Then had the nerve to say they need to raise the fuel tax...

:ditto: IMHO there should be an exemption / rule change so that IFTA or any state sticker and or fuel license covers only vehicles engaged in commerce regardless of weight or number of axles. But then again that would make sense and not place a burden on the common citizen. So much for that...
