I was like Warthog, jumped right in to see where you were broken down. I am off today and if you were within three hundred miles, I was going to make smoke your way. There are a bunch of great guys here that will go out of their way to get you rolling again, or to help you make a safe...
Here you go! Tall and skinny...
BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2
I do not want to lift my truck, but that is a tall skinny tire that looks like it would work.
Editing to say maybe an 11" wide tread is not really skinny... Glen
I have 255/85/16s on my 91 W 350 and they work great in our country. It is a heavier truck though than my M1008. The M1008 is on 235s now, but I plan to step up to the 285s when the time comes. It is too low geared anyway.

Personally, I would rather just leave it rest. It would be our luck that some clown in the legislature would think we have no right to use the roads in our trucks or that we should pay extra due to their weight. That antique tag law is a fantastic break, I am all for letting it rest.
I got the link and I have a spare switch now. I also salvaged a turn signal lever, just in case they meant that switch. Wish I had some photos to scan through! Thanks! Glen
We will have a Crown Vic full of tools. Other than brake fluid, we can make a quick stop at any parts store for the rest, thanks for those belt numbers. We will grab a set.
I already have a recovery tub with blue towels, Marvel Mystery Oil, window cleaner, DOT5, Sea Foam, Power Service...
We picked up a Hummer from Jefferson City, well, we are going to.... The paperwork is done and we are headed down Monday to get it. It is supposed to be complete, running good, missing a head light switch. I have sourced one of those to take along.
Is there anything in particular to watch out...
In spite of all the flack he takes, you can add Gimpy Rob to that good guy list. When my alternator puked, he sent me a PM, unsolicited and sent me one before I sent out a check. The alternator was on my deuce and I was rolling five days before my check cleared my bank.
I see several members...
I never had them check the vehicles I drove off. I think that is a cover GL's butt clause if you do damage on base with a vehicle that was released through them, just a venue to dump the liability on you. I always had that insurance paper with me, but have never had to share it. Glen
The EUC has a box for the end user if you know who your buyer is before you fill out the initial EUC, so I doubt pretty seriously that there is a 3 year clause. I read through all the fine print several times, trying to see what all I am agreeing to and do not recall seeing any time period. I...
I have been practicing a lot with my deuce, I back into my driveway three or four times a week. You can see the lug nuts under the corner of the box. When you can see the trailer, it is time to start recovering. Make sure you release the trailer park brakes before you take off, an M818 might not...
Not far into this video I run into some rain and took a little clip of it bubbling through the windshield frame. I am sure my window seals are not the best, but when it rains outside, it rains inside... I can see where the floor would soon be in trouble if that water was trapped in insulation. I...
A crew cab bobbed deuce would be super cool. I often thought about sitting a M105 trailer as far back on the deuce chassis as possible, not really a bobber, but a 4x4 truck. I would like to fill the gap with a sleeper as large as I could fit in there. I want one of the older Peterbilt style low...
