Double your air, double your impacts......

Chad, the time to pressurize is not a big concern to me. If I am going to use the truck and it's a cold startup, I always let it warm up 15 or 20 minutes minimum before I take off anyway. On a warm start, it will usually have plenty of pressure anyway. Rizzo, I just have the regular Duece...

Double your air, double your impacts......

RE: Driveshaft clearance Bjorn, thanks for confirming my observations. I think I'll see if I can find a small filter setup to plumb in directly ahead of the check valve to pick up any debris that is still in the system. I'm sure there are still some rust flakes in the other three tanks that...

Double your air, double your impacts......

RE: Driveshaft clearance OK 580, I isolated the drain on the tank with the check valve for ya. Pressurized the system and drained the three other tanks to see if the check valve works and it didn't so I took it out and apart. Some rust, gunk etc .in it so it was stuck open. Have a little more...

Double your air, double your impacts......

RE: Driveshaft clearance Hey gimpyrobb, two minutes forty-five seconds from start up till low air buzzer shut off. Plenty of time for a good walk-around!! BC

Double your air, double your impacts......

RE: Driveshaft clearance Good point 580, but that can be remedied with a slight plumbing mod. Just put a petcock pre junction with the other lines or give it a separate petcock and leave the other ones commonly connected. BC

Double your air, double your impacts......

RE: Driveshaft clearance Bjorn, as I'm sure you already know, the 2nd tank over from the drivers side receives air from the compressor at the front end of the tank and exits the rear end of the tank, passes through a check valve into the first tank which supplies the airpack and the air...

Double your air, double your impacts......

RE: Driveshaft clearance M-35tom- if you are asking me that question, the answer is that it does not give me more air pressure. It only gives me more volume at truck pressure for slightly longer initial bursts on my 1/2 inch impact gun. BC

Double your air, double your impacts......

Driveshaft clearance clinto- drove the truck on blocks to check clearance. My numbers were very close and so is the driveshaft to the drain lines. Will bump up the spacers under the pass. side end of the mounting brackets another 1/2 to 3/4 inch which should give ample clearance. I guess the...

Double your air, double your impacts......

jimk- I think you are probably right there. It will only give me a little longer use at the pressure available. The impact wrench I use mostly on the Deuce system is a 90PSI max tool. 580- I'll let you know! I wondered about that myself, but it seemed to me that each tank should empty into the...

Does this look like it will work?

I think Armada has got the right idea. That will put all the push/pull forces in a straighter line, which is always best. BC

    Brake booster grease?

Airpack Hey Deuceman 51, When my booster was acting up and I took it apart it had what looked like grease in it but it was really just sludge that looked and felt like grease. It was possibly the result of mixing regular and silicone brake fluids or just an accumulation of junk from over the...
