If I can come, it will be a M35A2 with a M105 in tow. Days off request is in, just waiting approval. I will probably come down Friday night and find a place to nap. Glen
They are good enough for me to buy a couple. We have a promotion shop here that screens art work onto T shirts. I would have a couple done if you want to share a drawing. I would have the year and make scrolled under the ones I did for myself. 1972 AM General or power by Continental for...
I use that lot to boom down my loads, check them and fill fluids. I never drained anything on base though.
Jeff, I did get a medium tow bar from Ross. He had a few and was friendly with me. Life is good! I still have a cover for you. Glen
I think I am off that day if you want company and some more tools. I have Mondays and Tuesdays this month, I think Wednesdays and Thursdays next month. I even have a tow bar and a deuce standing by if you need it. Glen
Might unhook a battery cable and save the possibility of grounding the wrench to the alternator. I have not personally experienced it, but have read that it can be expensive. Glen
I have put almost 3,000 miles on y deuce since February and I still do not know where all the noises come from. It is just the nature of the beast. I wear ear plugs if I am leaving town.
Sorry to jump off topic... If it builds peak torque at 1500 rpm, it sure seems like we are flogging them at 2400 to 2600. Sounds like that is way past maximum power range. In a recent thread several members talk about running right on the governor or close to it all the time. Seems like they are...
I am with Gimpy, the torque arms or control arms, look for bent attaching points and bad bushings. I got lucky, my joints all look new, very few stress cracks even. I have seen some that were pretty sad.
That is ugly, makes me want to go pack my bearings! I am guilty of letting them go. I rarely drive in water and it is not part of my normal maintenance routine. I do however check them anytime I change tires or brakes. Normally if I am in there for brakes, I repack the wheel bearings. Glen
You will lose a little voltage with every start. The truck runs off of one battery, except to start, then the second battery provides the 24 volt cranking. Eventually, it will discharge enough to leave you dead in the field. Might as well follow the TMs and get it fixed. Glen
I am going to venture out on a limb and say that even on the busiest of lake weekends, you will not see another like it on the beach. Nice fabrication work! Glen
Looks great, I get along with my deuce fine, but I would like to have some more in cab storage and be able to make the seat cushion on the passenger's side deeper. My boys have a hard time staying in the deuce seat, it puts their paws too close together and makes them top heavy. They make lots...
Installing a lift pump is easier said than done. They are a straight forward mechanical pump. GM or Detroit, followed the pattern they set for the Chevrolet engines and a push rod drives the pump lever. When you remove the pump, the rod will probably slide down to the fuel pump block off plate...
