is all deuces hard to get in second gear

Double clutching can save your transmission a lot of wear, especially the sychronizers. When down shifting, disengage the clutch to get the transmission to neutral. While in neutral engage the clutch and tap the accelerator to speed up the engine. Then disengage long enough to shift.. what it...

    my 2nd CUCV

It would be hard to pick which one would leave first. I like both of my trucks, the M1009 and the M1008. Good stuff, I know if I sell one, I will just want it back....

is all deuces hard to get in second gear

Sometimes mine needs a little first gear roll or a little bump of the clutch to move the shaft. I find it much easier to shift to second just before stopping instead of waiting until stopped. First is not sychronized and feels like a flat tooth gear, much rpm and mine drags hard coming out of...

Wreckerman and Elmo available full time

    Who has ordered from LMC

I had good luck with them, if I shopped around, I could generally buy cheaper and get cheaper shipping. Their products always seemed good, they never sent me anything that got damaged by shipping and they were fast. I would go back if I needed something. Glen

    Fuel filter change nightmare

Tighten both drains or bleeders. Crank the engine a few revolutions, then open the top one until you hear a hiss, repeat a couple of times. You should start getting shots of fuel with lots of air and as you go, you will get more fuel. I like to fill my filters before installing, some dribbles...

    deuce stalls at speed!

My first primary swap came out as a block of paste, the can was fuel of ice and sandy looking crap. It was nasty at six degrees, along side of the road.... That was about an hour before my second primary filter swap, equally as fuel of ice and clean otherwise....

    1028 highway ?

I am with WW on this one, that is way too hard to be running. You will be looking for a 6.2 one of these days. This is a case where it is not the junk 6.2's fault when she blows. I am not sure you could run a 6bt that hard and expect long life. A small block Chevy the 6.2 is not......

    Adding Differential Oil

The front of the transmission has no seal and/or if your rear seal leaks oil into the bell housing, it needs to escape. Otherwise the clutch will get oil soaked. Most of the dirt will vibrate out of there, it is a dust generating spot anyway as the clutch facing wears, the residue is otherwise...

    Anybody win at Ft Riley?

I have the compressor wrenches if you need them, I am close, drop me a note if you need or want company for the first 60 miles home. I have the filters, lots of primaries and a tow bar if you need to drag her off base. I am sure my deuce can do that. Glen

    CUCV tires

LOL... They were plenty safe on the M715! Not worth a crap on the ice, hard as rocks to drive on, but they were never threatened to go anywhere near 55 for two hours. You would be dripping some oil... and the transfer case would smell like you poured axle lube on the exhaust manifold. They...

    Looking for GL bid advice

I will not swear on anybody, but I will not bid on anymore CUCVs unless they have dual wheels. I have bigger targets now, I really want a M818 and a M920. Somebody slap me on the forehead! Glen

Sparta M109A3 trucks, anybody here get one?

That was one of my fears and the 66 had a sprag transfer case still. It was a very nice looking truck.

    Looking for GL bid advice

Your best plan is to contact a member in the area and have them go look at it, preferably a member who likes CUCVs, seems some of our fine group considers them trash, not worthy of the MV title, wheel chocks, generally annoying. Personally, I like them.... if it is in Kansas, I would be glad to...
