Minimum Interstate speed is 40 in Kansas. Drive 45 to 50 all the time, very seldom 50, always over 45 on the Interstate. Never have been flipped off or mean mugged. I run the same in my deuce, about 45 or a little less. Made the 1400 mile round trip to get my deuce in Rapid City and never broke...
Is the transfer case in question not a separate box from the transmission? The fluid from the transfer case does not circulate through the transmission pan or cooler, does it? Mine has its own fill plug. I kick my T case in neutral and pull it behind my deuce on a tow bar without dropping the...
I am of no help there Camp, I did not know they had a heating problem. The day I ran mine hard it was close to zero and between blizzards. I doubt mine got very warm.
Yes, the 4.56 is lower than people realize. The truck is a beautiful working rig in my opinion. In 1982 to 1989 nobody had a true heavy duty diesel pickup. Dodge upset the apple cart with the Cummins in 1989. Now the diesels are just amazing, these old engines were made as an economical...
We had some mishaps when I went to recover my M1009 and we ran my M1008 hard, 60 to 65 mph hard. I hated to do it, but we had a narrow time slot that we had to pick the Blazer up in.

When I went for my deuce, I ran 45 to 50, much...
"Trailer round here don't need brakes under 3K lbs."
MD does not have a percentage of GVW brake law? You could legally tow an M105 with a VW pickup and no trailer brakes? Most states have a percentage of weight law, or the towing vehicle has to be a certain percentage of GVW. I would check...
Probably not the parking brake, unless it has rusted to the drum. The park brake is separate from the wheel brakes and works on the drive line. Normally it is rust in the drums wedging the shoes tight. They can be very difficult to break free. You can check to see if it is the parking brake by...
If you can recruit a partner, put some good pressure on it with a breaker bar, then smack the breaker with a hammer repeatedly, hit it so that it drives directly into the square. I have done it with a hydraulic jack and a hammer, but two guys seem to work better.
You must have a super heavy duty 1/2 ton. I have seen M105s push a 3/4 ton around pretty hard. It is like towing a Chevrolet Nova or Camaro on a tow bar. Without trailer brakes, a 1/2 ton has no business trying to put the skids on a 2750 pound trailer. You surely do not want to slide into or...
I had a M1009 that drove me crazy, I just could not find the leak. About six months later, it finally started leaking fuel, it was the filter base. Nothing external up to that point. Glen
