Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Was my own GC and electrician and plumber when we built our house. That is an experience I won't soon forget. Hate to say it but they have you there. I learned real fast never, never, never, did I say never spec an item that you won't use exactly the way...

    GL Deuce run without gauges?

:ditto: what SixSpeed said. I did come across a gentleman in a deuce on the side of the road a month or so back. The heater water shut off valve had broken washing down the engine with antifreeze. Anyway i believe he was heading to Rhode Island and no gauges at all. Had been removed by GL.

How safe to spray water in engine compartment?

If your car washes are anything like they are here you need to take a sh!! load of quarters. I hadn't been to one in years but used one a couple months ago. I think I can buy a high temp pressure washer for what 3 or 4 trips to the car wash costs now.

    Failed Inspection... What Gives?

I would like to know how they come by that. Not being a electrician I fail to see the logic in even stating a minimum rating for a generator.

How safe to spray water in engine compartment?

About the only thing I would have any concern for would be the alternator. I would just wrap it good with a heavy trash bag.

    Starter switch upgrade

I would tend to agree with this statement. I would tend to believe that a older NOS switch has a better chance being better quality.

    Rear Axle Grease

I always put a light coating in any hubs I do. I was told 30+ years ago one of the reasons for doing this was it could help prevent any material shed by one bearing, because of wear or failure, from migrating to the other. Sounded good to me at the time and it can't hurt anything. Hasn't caused...

Scored used Gear Vendors O/D unit

Unless you are building a mud racer or going to drop in a rat motor I would stick with the 208. lighter than the 205 and better low range than a 205. 2cents

    MEP005AAS Fuel PROBLEM?

I wouldn't throw in the towel yet, but I wouldn't run it anymore. Just a WAG on my part but sounds like a seal on the injection pump drive is leaking and allowing fuel to enter the crankcase.
