Same here. The wife and I have made quite a few trips around the region so I could get my fix of coal smoke and hot cylinder oil vapor. Like you I finally figured there was just no way I would ever get one home. :-(. So now I have a deuce that can roll smoke if I turn it up a bit and after a...
Be sure to check the fuel shutoff solenoid is operating. I had run my generator for a while and went to restart and that quick a connection on the post went bad. Cleaned and tightened and been fine sense.
When I went there You didn't have to go on base which made pickups easier. If I remember correctly you would cross the railroad tracks and turn right and the storage yard was on your left.
Welcome to the best site on the web. Take time and read the tm's available in the "resources" section that pertain to the deuce. They are very basic in their design and if you know which end of a wrench to hold you can fix just about anything on them. Parts are available and most of the time at...

:ditto: what these to gentlemen have said. Be aware that these trucks are not allowed to be parked in some residential ares. They have 3 axles and by some local codes that makes them commercial. Do your research on restrictions where you plan to keep it so you don't have a nasty surprise. 2cents
:ditto: I would think it is the responsibility of the at fault insurance to cover getting it back to the owners. It not like they left it there for the fun of it.
