I removed the alligator clamps from the battery maintainer wires and installed a NATO plug. Works on the Deuce and the genset. Or you put the red + (goes to the starter) on one battery and the black - (goes to the frame) on the other battery. Don't make any connections to the "dogbone". Yeah...

I was out in the shop yesterday putting some parts away and realized I had not started the genset since last Summer. The batteries have been on a Battery-Minder Maintainer, so the batteries better be up, I'll check and see. Past experience has told me to crack open the fuel filter bleeders and...

The oil won't hurt anything, but the Diesel-Kleene will lube the IP. Tool box, spare set of batteries, battery term cleaner, lug wrench, shop rags, flashlight, duct tape, tie wire, comm between you and the support vehicle, that's just off the top of my head. If you don't think you'll need it...

Darwin: That may have been me that suggested the white paint. I have done mine and really noticed a difference with stock lamps and covers. It also lights up the cab floor real nice.

Perhaps the truck was built around the heater?:wink:

The TM's have generally answered most of my questions. Start with the LO and Operator's Manuals. Then to the Unit, Direct and General Support Maintenance TM, the next TM is Unit, Direct and General Support Parts and Special Tools. From there you can go to engine and transmission rebuilding...

Have you downloaded the TM's for your A3? If not, they are available in the resources tab, top of the page. The A3 TM's are under "The Deuce TM's".

Sometimes: If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.

Also, may I suggest "Operator Face Maintenance", driving sure puts a smile on one!
