You should care if that air warning buzzer works or not. It will stop without air, but you'll have some canvas seat cushion in your keester when you finally do get her stopped. Here are some vendors:

Good grief, nobody is "having a cow", the forum is to express one's opinion for crying out loud. There are some that say modify, and there are others that say restore, but in the end it's the OP's decision, all we can do is give you the pros and cons of each. Nobody is...
You might be getting some of the different models confused. I don't know the difference between "fairly rare" and "super rare", and I don't have any numbers that state how many are left. Here's a link to help you familiarize yourself with the M35 family of vehicles.

Somebody straighten me out, I'm getting mixed messages here. One Gentleman says he has a 0-100 PSI gauge, reading between 40 PSI at idle and 60 PSI running. This is tapped into the bleed screw between secondary and final fuel filters. Another Gentleman says his runs between 5 ans 9 PSI...

I park my Deuce in the shop and have pictures of other Deuces on the walls to keep her company. Seriously, when I drive over to my Buddies shop about 16 miles away, she runs a little ratty. But on the way back, more like a scalded ***** ape. She loves to be driven!
I would secure a piece of plywood to the back of the cab tub and mount your intercom pieces there. Lots of rooom to add 24 to 12 converter, stereo, etc. Headsets could hang from a piece of stiff wire looped around the soft top frame. These are some of the projects I want to do when funds permit.

A used VIC-1 system runs about $300 with 2 headsets. Emmado is correct, lots of moving parts, cables, connectors, etc. More to go wrong. Qual-Comm is a good civi aviation brand, don't know the price though.
Welcome from the Plains of Colorado! As suggested above, be sure and visit the MVCC site. We have just over 100 members and are a very busy family oriented Club. The Bulldozer should be fun in parades! Ha ha! http://www.mvcconline.org/
