Had the M925 heater core rebuilt.....reinstalled this past weekend. I was shocked at the cost, but didn’t think the newer/thinner cores would last like this one (30+ years).
Having fun!

Thanks gents.....I’ll run the truck as is. I brought the heater core in.....waiting on the cost (seems anything in the aftermarket was made of aluminum, cheaply made).

I was on YouTube looking for videos of possible repairs of this.....came across your site. Amazing what you’ve done with your truck and trailer! I considered an M548 last year.....will definitely call if I ever go that route!

I failed to notice the rivet in the top of the clamp....not as easy of a fix as I thought! Have you guys found a way to fix these without a full leaf spring replacement?
Thank you
Bob
Gents,
Was doing a little work on the 925 (pulled leaking heater core to fix, hit all the grease zerks, topped off fluids)....and noticed this:
Broke this particular clamp on both sides (bolt is still in there, just pinched.....looks like it sheared at the head).
Thoughts on cause? I use...
Added a 62 Gallon Transfer tank/storage box to the genset over the past weekend. I had been looking for a pick up bung to use on the tank and remembered the genset came with one! (along with a screw in copper tube). Modified the tube to about 1/2” from bottom of tank, ran the hose (also came...
Excellent advice! Having done 17 hour semesters (Engineering), working to pay tuition (many years ago when tuition was under $10k/year, minimum wage was $3.35/hr)....buy a beater for a daily driver, graduate.....then treat yourself to road worthy 5 ton.
When I was flying R/C , I would rent a u-haul truck whenever I took the c-130 to fly (it had a 132" wingspan). I could fit it in a Town & Country, but I usually broke something....it was just to big.
Its amazing where R/C aircraft are now.....the ARF and RTF electrics make the building...
I'll go with lift point, make or "surplus" a spreader bar......not sure I have a strap big enough for an undercarriage lift (that is one big strap!). Thank you.
Bend the frame? Wow! I'll remove the bed, take a look at the lifting point between the tires (I remember seeing an open ring there) and take a look at the manual to be safe. Thanks for the pics!
Thanks Wreckerman and Simp5782. The bed on the 925 could use a good refurbish.....good time to address that. I'll try this over the next few weeks, report back with pictures.
Gentlemen,
I've recently finished a 3 + year refurbish on an old Galion 150A crane. I'm in the final stages of "break in" on all the repairs....and need to do a heavy lift (15 tons). Our trucks weigh just under that, but looking at the lifting points in the rear.........not sure of a good way...
Been working on this crane for the past 3 years, rebuilt from top to bottom (even ran into Gimp on another forum!). I have some small things left, a re-repair on a hydraulic manifold seal, but all in all.....just about there! I needed some weight to lock in the cable wedge into the block, so...
