All the things for the 803 apply to the 802 in regards to spares and operating methods. Many parts are common between them.

They represent which pin on the diagnostic port that spot is connected to. For me it’s an under appreciated feature. I can probe many useful points for troubleshooting without opening up the set.

For me I choose coolants that are low/no silicates. The waterpump seals will last much longer if you go no silicate.

Could be a stuck thermostat. I'd suggest troubleshooting that and find out if the gauge is correct or not.

Noticed in the photos that your temperature gauge is way low. You should see it up around 180-190 when its up to temp and loaded. Is the gauge reading correctly? I looked back through this thread but I didn't see any mention of it running cold. If its really that cold its problematic. Diesels...

How are you measuring load? With an amp meter or using the onboard load meter?

Your no load RPM should be set around 61.5hz. That should give you near 60hz at full load.

Yea, I fear those days are gone for good. With the exception of a score of a trailer mounted unit, its hard to even get a 802 for under that at auction once you count all the fees and taxes. It makes putting much effort into one to offer it to a good home at a decent cost really, really hard.

I've given up on using the OEM hose on the return side of things. Units that I went through about 5 years ago have started leaking. I'm using the thicker gates fuel line now. Its not as easy to install but I hope it lasts a few years longer.

The lines on the supply side of the injection pump are 1/4". I have stopped using the 3.5mm return line and I now use conventional 1/8" fuel line. Its harder to put on but I think it will last longer than the OEM style return line.

It’s 1/4”. I cut the crimps off with a dremel. Seems to be the easiest way to get the old lines off.
