Well here's a couple shots, sorry they're not very good. I had a tire go flat on the wrecker. While I was there, I got a couple other shot as well. M275A2 with M128A2C Connected & the M52A2. The MEP006A and the M200A1 I picked up at Barstow last week can be seen as well.
I scored an NOS Wrecker Light Bar for my XM816 last night from Austin Aviation. Considering the rarity, $200 was ok. My wrecker came with the light cable. :D :D
I went to Jack's yesterday to get a few things. Jack let me know there were some ladders in some 6 Ton trailers that just came in from Fort Huachuca. I bought 3 boarding ladders, in the photo below the ladder on the left is the impossible to find and long sought after M128A2C boading ladder that...
I won this M200A1 at Barstow today. I haven't been able to find anyone with parts for these trailers. If it's in the condition it looks like it's in, I may move the fenders and MEP006A over to the new trailer. $254.00, I'll pull it to AZ with the F350.
The 2 M35A3's went for about 10K. Lots of...
I received this email today. I'm not sure how I got on a list to get this other than the fact that I buy quite a bit from GL. I called GL and asked if they knew anything about this, they asked that I forward the email. I did and they're taking a look at it. I have heard rumblings of this for the...
I need to move an M816 about 1800 miles  . For those of you who know, and don't know :? what kind of a road trip would this be (other than long and hot)? What sort of mileage and speed can I expect?
Hi Guys,
I need help. My M52A2 is leaking power steering fluid from what looks like a vent or presure release on top of the power unit / steering gear. This vent has a little cap that is loose and seems to have a spring under it. It is the old style Ross power steering. It leaks when I turn the...
I bought a 1954 M107A2 about 2 weeks ago. Towed it 750 miles home from Oakland Ca. Had been looking for a good water buffalo for about a year to water trees on our property in eastern AZ. It's in very good condition and complete with all of it's original faucets. Trailer needs a little cleaning...
I had my eye on several of Jack's trucks and decided on the V17A/MTQ. Completly original with rotating platform/guards, gin poles, winches and Comet 331. It isn't the yellow one in the pictures, it's another one he has, yellow one is still available. It'll have new brakes, water pump, carb...
Spent most of yesterday, hanging out with Jack at Jack's Gov Surplus in Tucson. He and I shared the cost of a truck to get our new Duece's from french camp home to AZ. I took one of his many M816's out for a spin, what a great truck, pristine from the AZANG.
I believe my new deuce may be an 83...
Won an M35A2 at French Camp today. 4 times, people placed bids in the last 30 seconds, kept bumping the price and closing time. AHHHH! $2555 is a good price though, they all seemed to have excellent tires even new looking. They also look to be well maintained.
I plan on driving it home, 800...
Well couldn't take many pics on the set. I'm very short for time right now, there is a short story to tell, I'll try to do that tonight. It was cold and windy, filming was at the VA next to Kirtland AFB.
Finished getting the trucks ready for the movie late last night. New paint, stencils, all sorts of liitle things fixed or replaced. Western Towing showed up at 7:00 am for the trip to New Mexico.
I'm wondering if the CUCV's were in any way protected from EMP?? Isn't there a circuit board that controls the gow plugs? Would the military buy a vehicle that would be inoperable after a high altitude nuclear detonation? :cookoo:
I'm trying to find some pictures I saw here some time ago of a Vietnam era M52 with yellow headlights. Can't find the pics, it was freshly restored.
Just got my M52A2 home yesterday. Bed is coming off soon. Needs E-brake shoes, front boots, probably an inner front seal - driver side, clutch...
Finally got the bows & GMA cargo cover on the deuce. Very happy with the GMA cover. Got the tires I've had for 6 months on it as well. Titan 373's, 11x20's from Jacks Gov Surplus. I balanced the front tires.
We drove with the Arizona Military Vehicle Collectors Club (AMVCC) today in the Phoenix parade. My wife drove the M1028A1, I drove the M275A2 with the MEP006A / M200A1 in tow. We started at the Phoenix VA Hospital. Many Vets from the hospital came out to view the trucks before the parade. It was...
I went to take a close look at the 68 M52A2 today. Drove it for about 30 min. Really like the power steering, early style. Rides nice too. Brakes are missing one adjuster although owner has a new one. Direct drive transmission, shifts perfect. Good clutch. Engine while driving at steady throtle...
I joined the Arizona Military Vehicle Collectors Club (AMVCC) last week. We did our first parade in the M1028A1 today. Had my two scouts along, Bjorn & Leif. We had a great time! There were about 20 vehicles attending. Sorry don't have more pictures.
